Well, spy photos aren't in Toyotas control. Photos are going to be taken regardless, and they can't just leak everything to get forum dwellers like us excited. This stuff is under wraps because it goes through dozens of iterative changes and the manufacturer doesn't need people to see all 10-15 versions as it develops.

Considering that this interior looks very similar to the spy pics from last year, I really feel like it's just prototype stuff. But again, maybe they saw that base 3-series interior and said "Gotta have it!" :p
I can certainly agree with you on this.
Its still quite a while away from release yet. Yes, this spy shot looks close to a production-ready interior.
But to me, it still looks a little too BMW-like to be finalised ''Toyota'' design.

My opinion...
This isn't the finished product yet.

The dash looks cool. Central digital tacho is good and the temp and fuel gauges look cool.

Still running tiny brakes

Anyone know if that bmw m3 plate is registered to Toyota?

Different shift knob from first interior shots

With the camo off and good colours I think it will be a seriously good looking car and be closer to the FT1 than we expect

"Toyota design" maybe but no one should expect any actual Toyota parts in the interior. This thing is being built in Austria, there won't be any mix and matching like with the GT86.

Not a single design element carried over, but can't win them all I suppose. Would still take a semi-bland interior if Manual made the cut.
The pillar that extends from the center console is there, it's just not as extreme and it's covered up. Also looks like they got the dash vents right.

To be fair, it's always the concept car interior that is changed the most on the road to production. Designers always come up with some extreme design that isn't very practical for comfort or production limits.

TBH the BMW interiors have been better than anything Toyota has offered from what Iā€™ve seen. Also the BMW infotainment system is far and beyond better than the one Toyota and Lexus use.
I absolutely agree with you and I can not understand, why everybody ist that unhappy with BMW parts. I believe that lots of those guys have never been sitting in a well equipped BMW. Yes, Iā€™m a BMW driver at the moment, but I owned several Toyotas in the past. They all have been good cars, but it really is, like ā€œsolidsamirā€ said: BMW interiors and entertainment system is much better than Toyota can offer in just one single car.

Iā€™m sure that the dashboard we see at the latest spy pictures is final and I would be very happy with that. Only the steering wheel looks like an older one, but this is the most easy thing to be changed for production. Maybe they wonā€™t show us the final one at this time.

The issue isnt the materials offered. I think its the ''design''.
BMW have never really had a flair for interior design. They have always been quite bland to say the least.
Most of the interiors between the different models of the same Gen cars look pretty much all the same (which exception of i8 / i3).

One man's bland is another man's stylish and modern minimalism. Certain themes remain constant throughout many car companies lineups. Mercedes, BMW, Lexus...all of these brands use similar themes inside and outside their vehicles.

As time goes on and vehicles become more modular/share platforms, you are going to see a lot of parts sharing and it isn't such a bad thing anymore.

Totally agree here most BMW interiors are good quality but rather bland and boring, compared to Toyota/Lexus, conversely BMW is much better at Nav. systems and operating them, maybe the Supra will get the best of both...

They are similar, thatā€™s true. Differences can be found in details and that is, what all the big car brands do. Have a look at Mercedes. The new A-Class comes with the Widescreen display as we now from the S-Class, only a little bit smaller. Compare Audi dashboards, they all look nearby the same. Even Mazda, Volvo, Volkswagen, Ford and GM are doing it all the same way. Every brand wants to be recognizable in every car.

If I could buy a quiet sporty Toyota CoupƩ with a R6 BMW Engine, the ZF automatic transmission and the well known and often praised BMW Entertainment system, I would do so and it would make me very happy.

I think we should understand that there wouldnā€™t be a new Supra without a good partnership with another brand. And there might have been much worse options than BMW.

if you look at the dash with the brightness and contrast up... yes it's all a screen, but almost looks central tacho screen - like an RCF. Not dual gauges like Z4 concept

Bland and boring? That is what I would say about most Japanese brands. Take a look at the old Z4 or every other BMW. Just configure it and you will see that there are so many options to make it individual and fit your own preferences - completely independently from your engine choice. I canā€™t find something similar at any Japanese car I could buy here in Europe.

The interior has a touch that differentiates it a bit from the BMW giving it a Toyota aura, which can only be a good thing in terms of character and design. If combined with BMW's high quality materials and assembly it will be one of the best sportscar interiors.
The dash display and the steering wheel brought to my mind the recently revealed Toyota GR HV Concept.

yeah, looking at the proportions of the digital dash, i think it will look more like the GR HV layout than the Z4 (position of tach relative to centre, location of speedo read out, location of fuel and coolant temp gauges)

hmm, it looks identical to the BMW interior, correct me if I am wrong but I do recall reading an article where Tada was interviewed and he did state that the cars interior will be completely different.
