Congrats to Guanyu Zhou! He is in Alpha Romeo car in 2022.

Also a good analysis from Jolyon.

It's good to see a new face but Giovinazzi is not wrong when he says money talks in F1 (not that that is anything new what with Crashtor Maldonano and Maze-spin). He delivered some good results for Alfa, enough to justify keeping his seat.

It sucks that dudes that legit deserve seat don’t get them. Callum Ilot probably will never get a seat when out of all the f2 guys he’s probably the most deserving.

What are the odds that if Max gets a grid penalty from last race, that Red Bull swap engines and decide to make the most of the situation?

Personally I think they would take one, but Max seems to think that the current engine is still in good shape.

There's no way they could've given a penalty after Hamilton intentionally crashing out Max and Silverstone and doing nothing. They didn't touch in Brazil so just let it be. Mercedes is just lead by pathetic hypocrits that have no problem cheating, and whining when it doesn't go their way.

Absolute BS as he was torpedoing into hamilton. Favoritism by FIA! his braking point and steering angle was worse than my DE1 students!
The drivers debrief should be a spicy one, with multiple drivers saying they’d change their driving style based on the results, looking at you Charles. But yeah the FIA needs to get their shit together, theres little to no consistency with their rulings

Hard to torpedo someone when you're in front of them, and when they're on your right and you're steering left.

But you know, common sense is in short supply at the Mercedes camp.

I mean, Toto himself stated that he didn't expect the decision to go their way. They submitted the request to generate discussion and, in that respect, they succeeded.

It is the expected outcome and a penalty 6 days later would've been silly. They boxed themselves in by so quickly declining to look closer at the move during the race. The only victim was consistency. So, what is the rule then? If you are the inside car and alongside, you are allowed the entirety of the track, with no expectation of making the turn, and if you run the outside car out of road, so be it? If that is the rule now, that's fine but let's see if that is uniformly enforced. I am okay with letting racers race and race very hard as long as the rules are clear and consistent.

THAT is the biggest problem of F1. The inconsistency. That's because every weekend there's different stewards with different interpretations. Not to mention opinions. Take track limits. They're enforced in corners X,Y and Z, but not the rest. Enforce the whole damn track! Then the ridiculous penalty "system". Just last weekend alone. Touching a piece of Carbon Fiber, $50k fine. Doing something actually dangerous like undoing seatbelts on a live track, 10% of that. Like WTF. Mexico vs Turkey, Gasly gets sandwiched on a wet track and taps Alonso, penalty. Ricciardo does the same to Bottas on a dry track, nothing.
