This is the way i'm leaning too, i don't want to wait until 2023 for an HKS setup. ?. You should share a vid of your setup. You stock, catted, or catless downpipe?
I’ve got the Magnaflow Xmod and love it. Granted, I’ve only heard two other Supras in person that had after market exhausts, but I really prefer the way my Xmod sounds.

I’m running it with a catted AA downpipe. At low RPM it’s deep and in the upper RPM it still has that distinct I-6 higher pitch howl. Phone recordings don’t do it justice. It doesn’t drone, but it definitely introduced some vibration in the cabin at certain frequencies. I need to double check that everything is still snugged up and not touching anything underneath.

If you are going for sound and power I would first buy a high flow catted downpipe or a catless downpipe and a nice after market intake like from Eventuri makes nice sounds close to a blow off vavle when you let off the throttle. After those two mods i would get a aftermarket exhaust

Welcome!

Just so you know- when you're just upgrading the exhaust, don't expect any more power. The stock exhaust flows decently with the factory turbo. If you're looking for more than sound, you're going to need a downpipe as well.
yeah, what do I know.
But have you seen the Supra stock exhaust?

Still unclear
I have actually seen it, yes. I can also add and measure.
Ahh ok now I think he will understand. He needed that Ethos. ?
@zrk is correct on the stock MKV supra exhaust.

stock exhaust is good. Its actually a common thing with BMWs. they are usually fairly high flowing and generally under 600-700whp changing them is only for sound for the most part.

Commonly see 600+whp on older BMW models (N54, N55, S55). And 700+whp fairly easily on the MKV supra exhaust specifically. our shop car made around 800whp on the stock exhaust if that matters before swapping over to our 3.5" single exit exhaust.

Yeah, I’ve read the stock exhaust ain’t that restrictive….but those tips aren’t great either…..I imagine that for some, better tone/louder sound is worth the money. I’m not sure why aftermarket Supra exhausts command so much $ given how many are available, it’s strange, but for someone who wants to make the noise, the stock exhaust can be improved.

Like most others have said, the stock exhaust isn't too bad. Even though it looks like it got banged up from the factory with some parts thinner than others.

With that said, I used to have the AWE touring exhaust and I absolutely loved it. Made driving the car much more enjoyable.

I keep debating....what the hell do i do with that giant 1 piece stock cat back system once it's off the car....i really don't have the space to save that thing in case it needs to back on one day.....dilemas.

I left mine in the alley behind my house. Junkers took it within an hour.

Yeah, getting rid of it isn't the problem, it's keeping it (and finding the space) in case the next owner wants it....

Next owner can fend for him/herself.

For changing out the catback was more for tone and quality of sound then actual volume, I have the AWE touring resonated with a catless downpipe, and compared to my buddies stock exhaust catless downpipe, I am not even that much louder, just barely, but the actual sound is so different, way more clean and exotic sounding on mine, for me that was worth it. Doubt any real power gains from just the catback, AWE claims like 10, maybe idk...

Many are happy with catless downpipe plus tune on stock catback. Sounds great and opens up the flow for the tune.

Catted AA downpipe with a Mangaflow Xmod is what I was also interested in, do you happen to have any clips of this setup and ideally cabin recordings with normal driving in comfort as well as in sport? Any issue with drone?
