You must be a post 2020 owner. There is currently a resource for you available that involves you sending your ecu to Russia (or is it Finland now) so that you can tune. From my understanding it is pretty expensive but appears to be your only option right now. @zrk has a great link he can share that is super informative. You can also check @visconti website on how to purchase.

I suppose the trans starts slipping beyond ~800hp. Perhaps they can try to play around with that .

Trans slips around 600/650 lbs ft of torque. Without question.

A trans tune won't affect that, but 7s here we come.

Don't know how it is physically possible to shift any faster? pretty amazing how it is.

What are they attempting to accomplish that you are excited about?
I'm scratching my head here too, especially as (I think) you can code more aggressive shifting using bimmercode.

Something to firm up the stock dampers or maybe play around a bit with the LSD would be more useful to me.

I'm guessing that many would like to be able to adjust torque management in the pcm, to accompany the TM reduction on the engine side.

I’ve been waiting for this as I’ve seen it make a world of difference on the bmw platform side like on 340’s and such. Don’t expect this to hold much more tq then stock if even any but hopefully this makes the shifts even faster and smoother. Does anyone see any perceived safety issue with the transmission doing this? I’m assuming they are going to increase clamping and line pressures. Wouldn’t want to push an already fragile Transmisson any harder but I’ve heard in many cases XHP actually helps! Hopefully we get some customer feedback soon!

Im not sure its fair to call this transmissions fragile. It holds almost double the stock power which is pretty reasonable. Its also the same trans in the hellcat and other high performance cars just with slightly different clutch materials and stacks.

It probably wont hold much more power, if the clamp force can be increased maybe it will hold a bit more. The big win here is that we can remove the softness Toyota/BMW coded in for it to remain friendly to normal people. The TCM maps can be made to not sacrifice things on behalf of streetability. Im stoked to see what can be done here as I just got back from the tail of the dragon and the trans was def a bit strange at times.

There will be increased wear if you use your car for race purposes. On the street for some pulls here and there it will probably have no impact or very little impact.
