I did a thing! Well, I paid a shop to do a thing because I just had kid #2 and the timing of these parts being delivered was not conducive to doing the work myself. Had them install the under-body Cusco brace (you know what it looks like - I'm not crawling under the car to get a picture) and had a custom steering wheel with new paddles installed.

The wheel is from @lpperformanceco on Instagram, which was recommended by a user here who I can't remember. The quality is fantastic and it feels great - exactly what I was looking for. Thank you user I can't remember! I went with just standard leather on the top and bottom and perforated leather on the sides. I'm not a fan of slick carbon fiber on a steering wheel and alcantara always ends up matted and gross on touch surfaces after awhile unless properly taken care of, which I most certainly would not do. I like the paddles (black aluminum), but when pressing them up top (they are much longer than the standard paddles), they're very squishy feeling. I'm assuming it's just the relatively thin aluminum torqueing and a weird angle being applied to the sensor. They do still shift, though. They feel awesome when pressing them at or around the connection point. Anyone else notice this with long aftermarket paddles?
I decided at the last minute not to have the Cusco in-cabin brace/harness bar installed. I just can't do the blue and I can't find a good shop around here to do the powder coating. There's a place about 1.5hrs away I was planning on taking the wheels to and have them done, so I'll probably wait until then to have it all done at the same time. Will likely just do a glossy or matte black on the bar (and some kind of gunmetal grey on the wheels).
Got a good drive in yesterday, which was nice, as the car has been sitting due to said new child.
Now it's time for a nap.
