Lol yeah difference is getting ripped off on ecutek LMAO
Not sure about that, Ecutek has been adopted widely across many platforms by some of the best tuners around. I don't have any skin in the game on this as i'm a JB4 guy but depending on your goals, if it's high horsepower and full integration of bolt-ons and power adders, Ecutek seems to be the choice for most.

This is completely unrelated to the issue at bar. Ecutek is a tuning platform and has literally nothing to do with anyone mentioned in this thread.
I read what you're replying to more as using an off the shelf map from MHD/BM3 rather than dealing with a tuner and the potential associated hassle. For the casual user who just wants a bit more oomph from their car, these always seemed decent value to me.

Do you just make this stuff up off the top of your head or are all these false statements calculated? Crazy. We're busier than ever though. This post actually led me to 3 sales, so I appreciate you.
You can put a -1 on that total because this post just lost you my business.

Sure, and that's fair. But saying 'EcUtEk iS a RiPpOfF' is total fucking bullshit. Ecutek is used across many platforms and wins races. There's really no denying that.

A decent counterargument to wait I just said is, 'well. it's the tuner that wins races.' Yes. This is correct. But the best tuners use the best tools. That's why Ecutek/Reflex is currently the suite that's preferred by tuners. The ones that win those races.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, i've witnessed a lot (NOT ALL) custom tuners be very short...typically on attitude, time, patience, and communication. You're paying for their tuning expertise, not to make a new friend. It's unfortunate because i personally think there are better ways of dealing with it but that's been my experience. In small businesses, for every person you hire and train, you make less $$, that's ultimately what it's about at the end of the day.

Yah its used elsewhere, so is a JB4, a Haltech/Syvecs/Infinity, an AMS2000, and any other random tuning tool. This platform has apps and systems that Ecutek can learn a lot from. Do they have a following? Sure. Is it a good tool, sure. Is it the best, depends who takes your money 😂you’ll make the same identical power with MHD/BM3/Ecutek “BRO” but with others you do it without getting shafted

The ecutek license is not expensive.... so I'm not sure what you're on about there.

But yes, you can absolve make the same calibration tables on all platforms (though you don't get RaceROM or RaceROM-like features on all platforms).

Not everyone really cares about money the same way, and the best tuning, support, trackside support, etc. all comes from the platform that's used the most. It's that simple. Ecutek and ProTuner is powerful for tuners, which is why they recommend it. If I'm sitting in the pits at TX2K and need to make a minor tweak or adjustment, I want someone who can do it as fast as possible. You're likely not going to get that, on our cars, without Ecutek.

Yes, my use case is different that some. Yes, not everyone is racing at TX2K, MITM, or Atco, or FL2K. But some of us do, and we use what's best for that. MHD/BM3/mgFlasher, whatever all have a place. So does Ecutek.

I'd never spend money on a certain video card for a computer, they all do the same thing- gamers disagree.

I'd never spend money on a carbon fiber bicycle frame, a bike is a bike- bikers disagree.

It's just.. all -very- relative, especially when it comes to cars. There are a million different cases and for some, Ecutek is -the- choice, and money doesn't really matter all that much in that case (not that whatever couple hundred bucks an ecutek license costs compared to the rest of the 50k build). Just like a gamer buys some expensive video card.

The point is, don't shit on shit just because it's not what you use. Not everyone that buys something is a sucker because it's not for you. Don't say, 'all these things are exactly the same' when they're not quite.

@zrk Some people just wanna watch the world burn man. Don't waste your energy on the man.

There's always people who think value should never match results/product.

Id like to see this claim tested. Who here read through this thread and it was the deciding factor to go with big V? Show of hands
He said the same thing to me when I posted my ECUs for sale.
Except he wasn't offering cloning services at that time due to his inability to find clone-able ECUs....
Hence why he tried to buy them from me :)

Im just not seeing how one could possibly track leads like that. It’s an overall weird claim to add to the steamy pile or bs
