As someone with no homeowners experience .. how can you even protect your house against flooding or flood damage? Just have good insurance and hope it never happens to you?
My issue is that the previous owner had cement put in all around the house and they didnt dig deep enough before laying it down. So I only have an inch height difference between the walkway and side door opening. On top of that, all the water can only drain out that one path from the backyard. Granted we dont get much rain here so its really not a huge ordeal, until it is.

Flood insurance always a good thing to have. It's never happened to me personally (needing to use the flood insurance), but I've seen plenty of flooded streets after a hurricane or two...

(wife talking to reporter, staying at our in-laws house, lol) Of course the media came out and made it sound way worse that it was. I went to work the next day. And power outages suck. But usually goes back on pretty quickly depending on where you live.

Glad it didn't go any higher. Flood insurance should be really cheap in your area. In case it ever gets high enough to come in the house. And hopefully it drains quickly.

I didn't remove the badge, just sprayed the whole thing and then peeled off the edges. Super easy and I should have done it a long time ago. The GR badge was more tricky, since I just wanted to black out the edges. I used a plastic pry tool to carefully peel the plastidip off the face of the badge after spraying the whole thing.

I have flood insurance and some special high risk fire area insurance. Its required in my specific area since my neighborhood is on the side of the mountain. There are a couple houses above me and then nothing but mountains.

Love this. Makes me think of the GT2 RS. I'm in for a pair when they're done. Tricky to install or no?
i opened the pre-order a couple days ago, 7 spots left on the pre-order batch. It's actually really easy to install.

Finished up hardwiring the front Rove R3 dash cam. Also hid most of the wire slack but could not figure out how to take off the passenger seatbelt cover trim so a little bit of the wire is showing in the passenger b pillar. Will have to search the forums and figure that out later. Pic included of what fuses I tapped for a 3 wire kit (acc + constant + ground). sorry for the quality it’s a bit hard getting pics down there in the passenger footwell.

What’s weird is that I hardwired the Uniden R8 to the rain sensors in and it never turns off - even after 7 minutes. Spent a Saturday monitoring it and yeah went the whole day without turning off. I just manually turn mine on and off, no biggie.

Also decided to get a 3 channel dash cam for the Velar and I thought I’d go with a known name brand this time so I bought a Vantrue one, but turns out they’re pretty much identical down to the software. Literally plug and play with my Rove’s capacitor base that’s mounted to the windshield - although the Vantrue hardwire kit is only 2 wires (acc + ground). Both made in China so go figure.

Edit: having played with both the Rove R3 has a few more bells/whistles and QOL features. But honestly, video quality is the same.

My Uniden R7 arrives later today. When you were installing yours did you notice if you could use Uniden's wire-tap or is it necessary to hardwire to the fuse box?
