I am curious, with all the different opinions on the new A90 Supra, who here will be able to afford one and who is actually going to be buying one when they come out.

I’ll start. I can afford one but I am not convinced yet that I will actually want one. It has a lot to live up to before i’ll consider it.

Depends on what "afford" means here...

Do I have enough free flow cash to buy this on top of my other 4 vehicles? Realistically, no... especially not while maintaining 3 different living spaces in EU,US, and JP.

That said, I could dump my Q50 Red Sport, take a bit of a hit, and then pay the increase... not really down with doing that though unless the power to weight ratio maintains or exceeds that set by the mules and price would need to be south of $60k as well.

For the GRMN, I'd entertain the idea of spending more and possibly dumping my Tundra and/or downsizing living quarters if need be, but again too many unknowns to make an educated decision there.

Hmm sort of and sort of not. I plan to put 55-60 down and finance the rest however If the supra is 90k+.... I would pass entirely. Any speculation to price of the top trim? GRMN?

The A90 is currently my alternative compared to what I was thinking about purchasing.

There was a time where I had an LC500H even invited @Guff over to test it since he was interested in the transmission. However, I'm thinking about moving into a bigger city apt or a house in the nicer burbs. So I got rid of some cars recently. To be alittle more responsible.

I'm waiting to see the situation settle, so I'm giving it about five years, this way I know I'm getting the best tech. By that time something else maybe more competitive.

Who know maybe that Porsche Taycan will be amazing Too. In the meantime if the A90 is nice and I like it. I'll add it to the garage.

I'm sure I could make room somewhere around here for one. Might have to get rid of a couple of my other cars... :drive:

Also @Chikane might get more than one. That dude goes through cars like crazy. Had multiple S2ks and BRZs, possibly at the same time oof. Need to get on that level.

But yeah, I probably won't get one at launch because of the house purchase. Who knows though!

Yes I can afford it, based on the 50-60k estimated price, and as long as the fiancé stops spending money ahah

I'd like to get the GRMN, so it'll be a waiting game for me, or just testing my patience, before I break and just get the highest offered at launch. Either way the plan is to pick one up. No mortgage, or car notes presently, so kind of gives me a little better opportunity. Lot of R/D ahead though.

Lmao, if I was married I'd be dead soon after.
We have a policy where she can decide how the house looks is decorated, furniture, gardening etc. and I can't complain or say anything. And she doesn't say anything about my decisions in cars, only thing she inputs is if she thinks it looks good and if it's comfortable for her to take trips. (usually this can be mitigated by having an SUV daily)...she wasn't a fan of the 86 though unfortunately, she didn't like the seats.

@Guff come by anytime bro! lol I don't have that many cars at least not anymore. I do admit I cycle through alot of em! but I've been better about it so far. I mean you had a Giulia, two supras, two 86 and a mini at one time! Not even gonna mention that CC diesel or Passat you had too!

anyways on Topic,

I believe that alot of people are looking to upgrade from the 86. So I'm hoping they release a lower model that people can get into. I'm sure it's good for business too!

Yes I can afford it. But I need to wait to release before I know if it will be a true want for my stable.

Either will finance and keep my MKIV or sell the MKIV and buy it mainly cash.

My big thing is I hate buying cars that have big loss of value after purchase and with the MKV being brand new clearly it fits in that catagoey. And the same reason I will be cross shopping it with some used porsches and such.

Also I am very fortunate with my other half. Her rule is "as long as we can pay the Bill's and not being restricted by car payments I can have whatever I want"

I can afford it. I’ve been anticipating this for quite some time. It’ll more than likely be a weekend warrior for me, as I’ll still have the WRX for DD. I just wish Toyota would stop playin’ around and spill the beans already.

GIVE ME THAT NEW JZ IRON BLOCK 400+ HP SUPRA, TOYOTA!!

I can afford the car and like a lot of you guys, I am a professional in my 30's who grew up admiring the 1990's Toyota sports cars. Feels good to be able to be in a position to live out those childhood dreams!

However, as a non-homeowner who may soon be a homeowner, I have my concerns about the GRMN model. If they price it beyond RC-F range, (>$80k USD), I may be out of the running for that model:( Would have an RC-F in my driveway right now if not for the 2020 Supra, but I also remember looking at the GS-F and thinking how overpriced that car was , which was the only thing I disliked about the car (as someone who has owned 2 generations of that car)

Yep, I can afford it. I decided to hold back from buying both an RCF and an M2 to wait for the Supra. If Toyota gives us a Supra with the proper engine at launch, I'll gladly hand them my money. If not I can wait it out, Toyota won me over with the looks of the car either way
