Wonder if we can take the front differential from a CLAR platform awd bmw 3/4 series and plug and play to the supra...?
any ideas one of you engineers?

ok, i think we would need the following from a g80
transfer case
front differential
front drive shafts
awd ECU from bmw

I’m more curious as to how you’re going to fit it and what you’re going to have to do in terms of massaging the space and the tuning aspect of getting the ecu to even recognize the b58 engine.

You know, this thread has made me nostalgic... I remember before release that everyone was talking about how if Toyota had produced everything (whether a "new" I6 or just a turbo V6 or NA V8 from existing options) the car would have wound up costing well over $100K and no one would buy it.

Fast forward a couple years (and a ton of inflation)... and some people are paying nearly that for this version - after markups. :rolleyes: Sure, if they had done that - they might be going for $140K now, but it's funny how much difference a little time makes.

I feel like this Supra may even become another " icon of economic distress" much like the MKIV was in the mid 90's (although for slightly different reasons).
