See you could be in a really nice part or really bad part. Depends what corner. I'm at the very outskirts of the IE, away from all the madness but still a block away from the ghetto. The nicest car you will see around is whatever just got stolen haha.

I'm a mechanical engineer in Automotive Industry. My skillset is vast. So vast that I can mow lawn, fix stuff, wash/detail cars and juggle my balls at the same time. Kidding aside, fuck, need to find a job and move to S.D. before winter arrives in Michigan.

General Atomics and many other companies are always looking for engineers. Check out indeed.com and LinkedIn. And don't overlook the possibility of being a manufacturing engineer. I've been sent to the Philippines, China, and Malaysia as one. Most mfg. engineers start out as mechanical engineers. Solidworks is very popular out here, although some of the largest companies use Catia.

You may know this already, but housing is very expensive here.

Thanks for that tip. I do dismiss manufacturing immediately. So let me indeed give that a go.

I'm proficient in Catia. NX, Solidworks elementary. Not looking for design atm though. But if it's what it takes. We're pretty much ready for a do over.

La Jolla is one the most expensive areas, for sure. There are a cluster of medical device companies in the Carlsbad area but try not to live too far away from your employer unless they allow WFH. You may have heard of Bistein (Poway) and Fox (El Cajon). There are also some aerospace companies and suppliers in this area. Northrup Grumman is In Rancho Bernardo, I believe.
