I have a warning light on my car for the oil that says "reset impossible".
How are you guys fixing this, or are you?

Not sure how or why, but a lot of the computer glitches just go away after driving around, turning the car off, locking the doors, sitting a while…. Not the best answer and haven’t seen or heard of this error yet. Will be interesting to see the responses. Good luck brother!

Any idea where to look in the menu? There's so many. ?
May be a menu called “service” or “maintenance” or something like that. Been a while since I used it.

So, this is weird. Went out to my car to mess with the TPMS. I think one is bad. Anyway, put the car in diagnostic mode to mess with the tire pressure settings. Hit the start button while it was in diagnostic mode with my foot on the brake and the car started. All the lights were off. No more warnings.

Make sure date/time is correct. And also make sure your hood is CLOSED all the way. My hood wasn’t closed and I was trying to reset the oil maintenance light and it kept saying “reset impossible” too….. Took months to figure it out….

There you go! I swear this kinda shit just happens and then they magically go away ?. I accused my wife of fixing the steering angel sensor and chassis error code after she gave it a good washing. I had her explain every single washing step, from backing it out of the garage, getting it wet, drying it, you name it. I thought for sure I could figure out what she did, ?. She should have said you’re welcome and charged me a couple hundred bucks.

The new thing my car is into is the stupid lane assist. I turned all that crap off in the computer settings and it comes back on, no matter what ?. So I just mash the safety button and turn it off every drive.…

The game changer for me would be if I couldn’t turn off all the driving nannies on track. Luckily Toyota has that big fat button, I mash it for 3ish seconds and then hit it one more time to confirm. Viola! Don’t know why I have to hit it a 2nd time but it works ??

Glad it worked itself out @kaj ?

I've noticed my lane assist randomly coming on too. I think it's a combination of settings I have on the car and which safety nannies I have on. Usually I leave the VCS, or VSC whatever it's called, on, traction control off, and everything else I can find off.
Still, I feel like some of the things turn on by themselves and intrude.
I have an event next weekend and the only thing I want to leave on is stability control. I think I have it figured out. I think I hold down the big button until stuff turns off, but the stability control is still on? Then I turn off traction control? So goddamned confusing.

1 tap to turn off traction, Hold to turn off VSC... vehicle stability control.

Ah, see? I would have had everything turned off ?
What I found with this car is that while I'm on track if I'm out of sorts enough for the VSC to kick in, I'm over driving it. I'm really happy with The limited amount of intrusion it has.

What @zrk said… but I still watch the dash. The damn stuff will come on while driving sometimes. It’s rare but it does happen. I notice it especially when I’m at Sebring, more comfortable on edge, and I can feel one of those two nannies kick in. Lo and behold, you look down and those safety lights are off. Similar to what you told me about her coming out of manual mode sometimes.

For some reason, even when driving smoothly at Sebring’s bishops bend, the damn thing will kick in. It’s a long turn over 110mph. Doesn’t seem to happen to me at Homestead. But I’m less comfortable at that track and not pushing her over that fine line…
