Well here's an update everyone......
My last post said I hadn't heard anything 7 weeks after receiving a batch number. I went back to my dealer asking for an update, he thought I would have had email updates but I only had an auto generated one saying I have a batch number now and someone else would email, no-one did.
Anyway, my dealer texted me the next day saying he'd have an update the next night. I heard from him a week later and he said pop in on the way home for an update,
I did and he told me it looks like my batch number has been deleted, no idea why or by whom but a new order had been submitted. WTF!
Before I had the chance to explode, he said he wasn't happy with that and had made some calls and sent some emails and found there was a GT spec exactly what I had ordered here in WA but he was told it was sold already. So the update was basically for him to give me back my deposit thinking I wasn't going to wait another 6-9 months and start again.
Half an hour after that though he got another email saying it wasn't sold and it was mine if I wanted it.
OMG
Zero to hero.
She was already in Perth, I picked her up yesterday!

I have done about 400k's this weekend and I'm loving every minute of it so far. My Wife volunteered me to go back to the dealer tomorrow and take him for a spin. I will because I have noticed the bonnet isn't closing properly on the drivers side and its bugging me. Hopefully it's just a quick adjustment needed.
The manual feels pretty bloody good, it is going to be very hard to keep to speed limits, it builds quickly and so smoothly you don't notice it. One thing that has surprised me was how quiet it is doing 110 on freeways, it's like an electric car.
I haven't set up sport mode or individual settings yet so got a bit of playing around to do tomorrow.
Anyway, that's quite an update isn't it. I haven't posted until now because to be honest, I expected something to go wrong given the cluster fuck it has been up until now (like a yellow auto waiting for me). But I got there in the end.
Hopefully it isn't far away for you guys, hang in there! It is definitely worth it.

The hood are you sure you're closing it right? You need to drop it with a forceful push to get both sides to latch.

You don't need to set up sport mode. It's a click or a button.

Hi JT,
The hood is closed it just isn't sitting flush, there's a big panel gap compared to the other side.
There is no driver profile set up yet, that's what I meant about setting up the sport settings. I'll be turning off lane keep assist thats for sure, really dont like the feel of that.

Congrats on the new toy. How did the dealer mount the front number plate? Any images? When mine arrives I'm going to get them to only mount the rear plate. Don't like the thought of then drilling the front bumper

The front bumper with respect to the hood could be mis-aligned. It is very very easy to loosen the bolts on the top of the front bumper and align the hood to it. I had to do this on my 2.0 Supra. There are threads here with help for that. Best of luck. Congrats from Germany!

Hi Phil,
The front plate is cable tied in the middle section below the bumper. The plastic panel they screw in to the bumper would look terrible I think and is designed for slimline plates so I'll stick with the cable ties, it looks pretty good there actually. As long as it doesnt affect air to the radiator or whatever.
Also, the bonnet is fine, I closed it again dropping it from 50cm high per the manual and it closed perfectly.
Had sport mode on for the first time this morning, it does make a noticeable difference and in the sound, steering and even gearchange.
I am blown away with the driving experience.
I set up my music collection too via a USB and I'm not sure if it is different to previois years but the stereo soinds pretty bloody good to me. It's not the loudest I've ever had but its loud enough.

Another quick update guys.
I havent done heaps of k's this weekend, its pretty bloody hot this week.
I did head to an autopro store and bought a set of hypersonic door guards and stuck them on to the mirror panels. It definitely made a difference to the wind buffeting, it's much better.
I also used dental floss to get rid of the toyota badge above the Supra badge at the back. Was easy as.
It's double sided tape I think not glue, the remnants mostly peeled off and I used some eucalyptus oil to get rid of what was left. Damn, it looks SOOOO much better without that stupid badge.
So still loving it so far, not going nuts, making sure I run her in properly coz like my EVO3 WRX this is a car I will keep forever.
It's going feel like ages getting to the 2,000ks tho :)

Damnnn!! Congratulations man.

I'd love some more pics. I've ordered the same colour as you.

I'm still on A00. My estimated production month was March (next month), but one of the guys logged in for me today and the new estimated production month is now May :'(

My jealousy is real hah.

Enjoy mate.
