Hi guys. When I first bought my car about 6 weeks ago, the sales guy tried to connect the car to the app but the when we scanned and manual entered the VIN, it just kept giving us an error saying VIN not recognized.

now 6 weeks later, I’m attempting it again and I still can’t connect my car to the app as the VIN isn’t being recognized. Any ideas? Thanks!

Toyota app doesn’t work for Supras. You have to use the Supra connect app. My dummy salesman tried to set it up for me too lol

Neither the Toyota nor Supra app recognize my car. I gave up.

ventilate/pre-condition your car, lock/unlock your car, flash the headlights, blow the horn, locate your Toyota Supra, send destinations from your device to your navigation and start door-to-door navigation routing
It lets you lock/unlock the doors remotely and run the fan, that’s about it
Woh, hey! you can honk the horn as well, ok? ?

Dont stress over it. You aren’t missing much.

The Supra app compared to the Toyota app is kind of useless.

As you will notice from the notes below, I love the Toyota App and can care less about the Supra App because it doesn’t work the same way.

Yes on the Supra app, it let’s you luck/unluck, track vehicle (not live), show fuel level, etc.

However, the Toyota app on my 4Runner is awesome.

It does all of the above features, plus it will:

Send you notification if you forgot to luck a door, left a window/sunroof opened.
Geo fencing.
Shows hard acceleration/stopping.
Trace your previous trips on a map.
Remote start.

There are a few more features.

I have had left many times my doors unlocked, windows opened and thanks to the app notifications, I remember to close them.
One time, I got back from work and left the sunroof opened. It started pouring a few minutes after, and got a notification letting me know the sunroof was open. It saved me from big headache.

Is your 4runner a trd offroad premium or a pro? I have a trd offroad and have no remote start....

I would agree though the toyota app for the 4runner is leaps and bounds better than the supra connect.
I've only opened the app twice. Once to set it up and another to check location but beings the location wasn't turned on was a pointless endeavor.

Also my salesman tried to have me use the Toyota app also. Then I checked up on it and found Supra connect.

My 1st Supra, couldn’t get it to work. This Supra, I knew it would be a process so I asked the dealer to do the whole setup. I had to tell them to use the “Supra” BMW based app. They didn’t know either. Huge disconnect with these dealers but it worked. It’s kinda cool so don’t give up @kaj

Meh. Every once in a while I'll get bored and try it again. It just keeps telling me my VIN is wrong. Nothing I can do about that.

I had the same issues when I first got the car, but the app recognized the VIN now after few months later lol. But like everyone said you are not missing much.

Mine is a Pro, but it shouldn’t matter as long you have keyless entry and push start.

The horn is too embarrassing to use. Belongs on a smart car maybe. Someone about to swerve and hit you? Just let them lol.

What does the app do? I haven’t bothered.
You all have convinced me. I got it set up, and now I can check the app if I need a reminder that I probably need to get gas.

OP, are you sure that you’re using zeros and not the letter “o”, if applicable?
