I see bimmertech offers a line of speaker upgrades...sadly it shows the 2023 base model as not having any available products (not the JBL audio). Has anyone upgraded the door/center/rear speakers on a base model? As you may know, the base audio is pretty terrible! Not looking for a crazy bump in volume, just a better tone and clarity.

it’s a slippery slope. If you wanna stay stock -ish Get the bav sound option.
If you wanna get crazy. Check out the helix interface and build from there

They all require the stock JBL system whether you search or use the VIN. That’s why I’m looking specifically for a base model kit. I don’t need loud, just balance and clarity.

I can’t imagine what’s that diff between the base model and JBL.
How many speakers are in the base model version

given how abysmal the jbl system has been in both my 20 and if not worse my 23, I can only imagine what the base audio sounds like, one of the weakest points of the car.

Let’s get this going again, it’s TERRIBLE! I did the @tadda bass fix and the “base” model speakers are absolutely trash! I’d like to throw some high quality speakers in this car but I keep running into this weird connection issue? How do I just upgrade the speakers and amp, ya know, like we’ve been doing to decades!

That’s tricky to do. You need an interface to do so.
helix or mobridge.

Whenever I want to have an eargasm I just rev that bitch out to 4k RPM and let off the throttle, or I listen to Kanye (if we are still allowed to) ?

I think you can't since there is 1 speaker (without a twitter) on each door and 2 bass speakers on the rear, so 4 speakers in total. I had an OEM audio on similar level in my Fiat 600 back in 1998. What Toyota did here on base model is speechless ...

Is there any online audio manual how to hook up OEM radio (head unit) with an aftermarket amp? I think wiring amp to the speakers, including adding ne ones, is not that hard.

I just did this on mine a month ago. My base audio has 4" in each door with 1" tweeters. Behind the seats sides were just 4" speakers (no tweeters). I added tweeters to those and powered by an Audison 8.14 DSP. All OEM speakers were replaced with Morels, except the 8" left stock. Made a world of difference. All you need for the base system is a wire harness to replace stock amp with an aftermarket one and the obvious power cables etc.

Can you share which one you used? I'm watching installations on YT to get more info how to do it. I understand that in case of my base stereo system 2+2 I need to get a P&P RAM harness adapter, an amp from which I can run additional speakers (rear and central). How about OEM harness for both front door speakers and subs, can I still use it?

The base audio is the 676 option (no RAM module).

This harness will plug in to the existing factory harness and you just attach the amp outputs to the labeled wires. If you keep the existing speakers that is all you need
