That reminds me of the Napster days. Can only imagine how many viruses I downloaded.
That was half the fun! Also, the dialup 56k losing connection a bunch of times. Then, finally days later, able to listen to the song. And it's a 2 min loop of a random garage band practicing Pearl Jam.

Heck I remember, 5" Floppy disks...
Held a whopping 300 Kilobytes and every couple of days I had to reset and adj the spin rate-rpm with a little screw driver so it would communicate with my Trash-80

Man, y'all bringing back memories. Null modem cables, rs232 ports, those daisy chain networks with those little resistors at either end. Good lord, bob crashed, everyone reboot! Of course the 5 1/4" floppies but of course there was the 8" and tape (every try to record a paper on cassette tape and pray it didn't fail before you turn it in?). And of course the grognard award goes to the punch card crew -- that's all before me.

I remember wasting my New Year’s Eve at work 1999 because I was so dumb and idiot to be there testing the computers to make sure they were Y2K compliant. One of the dumbest and idiot moments I’ve experienced. I personally had zero concern about Y2K as my background in computer programming knew this was just a big dumb and idiot moment I had to be a part of to calm down those with less common sense. It’s hard to believe so many people were conned into believing everything was just going to stop working because of the date going from 1999-2000. While 2 digit date was used as the primary reason. The next progression in 2 digit numbers is 99 back to 00, but the fear was stricken into public and many reacted to this fear of the Y2K.

There were some bugs. And never forget when Zunes crashed because of a leap second.

Yes but nothing to the degree that was portrayed. Someone that worked for my friend spent his entire life savings and ran all his credit cards up on water and rations building a bomb shelter in his basement.

I believe that's because IT people patched everything that could go nuclear very well knowing the impacts, years in advance....

Bomb shelter's always needed.

Why do I picture someone with a fear of electric cars doing this same thing now but with gasoline? Making the term “bomb shelter” much more fitting.

Lol we've seen all to well what people do when there is gas shortage = gasoline in plastic bags.

Stop responding! You're just boosting his numbers! We should all block him for a month and bam, his numbers tank.
