The day that I washed the car the car had not been driven all day. Then it sat for exactly 7 days. The day that my brakes were locked up, the car was in drive and the parking brake was not on. They were just that stuck, but of course it was only the fronts. They eventually broke free but it required me to remove traction control so that I could effectively actually put down some power to the rear wheels because they were legit spinning and doing a burnout in my garage, and with traction control on it was cutting power and I couldn't give it enough gas to break the brakes free. It was wild as hell and I learned a lesson. I will drive the car after washing for now on.
I’ll have to tell my wife. She washes all the cars. Could be the chemicals you’re using? Maybe not washed off with enough water? Regardless, we’ll drive ours around after as well. Thanks for mentioning this!!

Iron rotors + water = rust. It happens. If you dont drive the car after washing, theres nothing to stop the rust from building up between the pad and rotor and causing them to stick.

That quickly?!? Wow ?

BTW, getting another windshield today ?. I’m off, they come to the house, change it in my garage, pretty nice. This time I’m going to coat that sucker with something my PPF guy found. If it last more than 2 years, I’ll be happy.

Can I rent your wife?? I've got some vehicles that could use a good wash.

Im sure things like relative humidity and water quality matter a bit but...

For me, I used to wash the car, back it into the garage, and if i didnt drive it for a few days, the front rotors were always stuck at first. Hydes Rust Stopper helps quite a bit, but now that I have the garage air conditioned, the moisture gets sucked out and its not a problem at all.

Nice, this is exactly what I want to do! Any zoomed out pictures? Unfortunatlety they cost around ÂŁ330 ($400) from the local dealers here in the UK. Going to see if I can get family or colleague to pick-up a a pair when the US next. Think they're around $220 right?

Yes Sir. Rust on rotors is normal if not a PITA.

This was one of the main reasons why Porsche developed the PCCB ceramic brakes. The performance benefits were secondary to developing brake rotors that wouldn't rust.

I was about to pull the trigger on some and then I thought, why not just paint the original ones? My local paint shop quoted me around $80AUD, so 20c USD.

I added a new carbon fiber wheel. The last of the chrome is gone from replacing the air bag cover as well. Really adds a lot to the interior fit and finish so thanks to @Andrew4Supra for being a bad influence on me. Now we both have 10whp more from the steering wheel! Just kidding I am very pleased with the change though.

Previous change was the rear gloss black tips.
