Today I installed an Armaspeed intake, and I took it for a quick test drive to see how it sounds. For some reason, when I let off the gas at low rpms (~2k rpm) it makes a noise that sounds similar to when you're slurping from cup with a straw and there's no drink left. I'll attach a video as an example?

Is this normal? Any fixes?

Specs:
  • 2021 3.0
  • Catless DP
  • Armaspeed Intake
  • No tune / No JB4. Just stock tune
  • Stock Exhaust.
Edit: I made sure everything's secured. Couplers are secure, intake is rigid. Everything seems evenly placed.

Are you referring to the burbles? That's fuel being ignited in the exhaust (which is typical in sport mode). An intake shouldn't have changed that effect.

At first I thought you might be hearing turbo flutter but that doesn't sound like empty milkshake.

Maybe you can hear it with headphones. It's raspy and sounds just like empty milkshake lmao. I don't know how else to describe it, but it's definitely not the burble

Mine sounds the same way. For a minute thought it might’ve been a boost leak. After spending the last two days worried about it and watching/hearing multiple videos on the Armaspeed, found out it’s completely normal lol

Good to know! This car is the first car I've ever modded, so there's noises I'm not used to. It's good to understand what's normal or not when you mod your car. I appreciate all the inputs

I’d get a different one, that’s going to get annoying quick!

Picking up what you’re laying down. I find it more akin to the last bit of bath or sink water going down a drain than slurping the end of a milkshake. I’m running the MST V2 for reference.

It might be the diverter valve.
