$60k down doesn’t equal an $800 car payment. Don’t but the wrecked one, you’re just in too much of a hurry
I believe he's putting 15K down, but even with that numbers are off.

I bought mine wholesale for $40k, with some exterior issues, had been in a front and rear accident, but nothing like that had to be replaced. They repaired without insurance, so I still have a clean title, luckily. Paint looks like shit, but I just wanted the platform really. The frame rail having to be replaced is what would worry me the most. The other shit doesn't really matter. I've always had good luck with rebuilt title cars.

I have tier 1 and got a 5.49% in February, and was definitely shocked, but like a few other said, the 7% sucks, but it's about the going rate these days.

It looks brand new lol and it already save you the trouble of having mods which you probably wouldve added anyway. The only test left is to drive it and see how it feels
This guy gets it. One thing I would definitely recommend is taking it for an alignment before you buy it. See how fucked up the suspension mounting points are. That, and have someone tail behind you and make sure you aren't crab walking like a messed up truck.

I would get a used one, not crash damaged. Plus tbh the exhaust intake and charge pipe are kind of useless. You never need an intake on this car. Neither a charge pipe or exhaust unless you're running a bigger turbo. My advice if you're looking for one to have fun in and mod and stuff, get a used one that's decent and doesn't face any problems. If you're looking to keep it stock save up some more and get a brand new one.

As far as the interest rates, yes they are terrible right now. As others have said, with tier 1 credit, 7% is the going rate these days. I shopped around and got a few points lower with tier 1.

I also, would not go with a rebuild. If you intend to sell it later it will be really difficult with that title and you will get almost nothing. You have enough saved to shop around and find a used one private sale or even a new one with diff finance terms.

Okay, so here's one of the main reasons these get totaled so easily. The variations of steel & aluminum (grades & thicknesses) used in the body structure on this platform are pretty staggering, and from a repair perspective, a nightmare to get back into factory specifications. To help illustrate this point, Toyota themselves bought back a crashed 2020, stripped it down, and painted each individual structural material (grade or thickness) used in a different color. The process was done solely as a teaching exercise, with the end result being donated to a leading Auto Collision Repair program at a technical school. Here's the photos they published.

Plus, while I understand your concern about interest rates, that’s just part of the bigger picture. The point made earlier about resale is very valid.

Your real cost is your total cash gone between your purchase and your sale, all in. You should consider more than interest rates.

Oh i forgot to add that the dealer said it was a CPO and added a $2.8K fee for that and $1K dealer fee. So with dealer fees and taxes car went from $49.9 to $58K.

I would be all over that thing for a track car. For a street car I would avoid. For perspective, I bought a brand new 23' 3.0 Premium.
