Is it worth upgrading from a 21 to 22 for minor oil consumption purposes?

I have tuned 2021 that burns a quart every 4-5k miles. I’m not sure if this will be a big issue long term, or if it’s worth spending 10k to upgrade a year or just keep the 21 and eventually build the motor since I plan on doing 1000hp build down the line is better. Just scared of it getting worse I do have a 3rd party 150k powertrain warranty on it but not sure if reverting back to stock and locking the DME is catchable. Or Ami just over reacting here?

Im fairly certain that BMW and Toyota have stated that burning some oil is normal. I was just reading a thread on this literally yesterday because after 35k miles I finally had a "add 1 quart of oil" message. There have been recommendations to increase from the 0W20 to a heavier weight oil, i think 5w30 if im remember those threads correctly, and have helped mitigate this. These engines have been pretty bullet proof from what I have experienced and youre overreacting.

If you upgrade to a 22 then you have to worry about doing the Femto DME unlock if the car you purchase doesnt already have it, $$$$.

Pretty sure that anyone looking at the DME can tell if anyone has been messing around with it.

Yeah I’m at 31k rn and had it come up 2x once at 13k on the 0-20 and once on 5w-30 at 30.5k. Sending to femto would cost me another $2000. I’m not excessively burning oil though so I guess it’s fine

For a tuned Supra that’s more than acceptable. Higher boost can lead to more blow-by. I’m burning about that much on an e50 tune. You’re wasting money jumping to a 2022.

A quart every 4k-5k is absolutely nothing to worry about, nor is it worth the extra money to go up to the 22.

As someone with a 1000+hp 2021:

If anything, go back to 2020 and swap in a six port head. Then at least the car will shift under high power.
Why wouldn’t the car shift? Do you have built motor and trans?

Appreciate the reply, yeah recently it about 3k miles this time around during the colder months. But alright, are you also on a 2021? How many miles?

Things get real dicey above 1000hp. Things start to get weird. Shifts under power don't always happen, other weird codes and shit. No one really has it all figured out. We're definitely hitting ECU and TCU limitations.

And yes, lol. Everything is built.

Thank you. Just worried about what happens around 100k miles if it will get worse or not.

Who did you go to for the built short block? I was looking at titan with the billet main caps for the future. Does your built motor burn oil or is everything good to go?
And wow do the 2020s get those same issues?

2021 with 9K miles. When I leave it in Drive mode and go for longer trips its only 1/3 quart every 4K miles. Sports mode and heavy foot = more oil consumption.
