Hey fam I'm at a crossroads and want to get some input before I make a decision.

2021 locked and stock, I'm coming up on 36,000 painless miles. I enjoy the small and light chassis, it turns heads. I don't drag race and haven't tracked. I take the bikes to Palmer and NHMS occasionally so probably won't take the car. Primary use is summer road trip GT. I'm addicted to fast things.

The problem is Its slow as fuck, to be fair I've grown up on liter bikes and this is my first sports coupe so my perception of speed is ruined. To compound the problem my primary use is road tripping so I refuse to use ethanol or methanol. 93 oct significantly limits my options, investment to even support enough fueling, extremely poor transient response on full frame turbos combined with a low rev limit means poor partial throttle drivability and typically means built motor to support the pressures circling back to 93oct being a octane / knock limitation. Low revs really limit the excitement this power plant can provide.

I had the opportunity to take a ZL1 1LE out with moderate bolt ons, that car is better in every singe way except the 300lbs and its hardly noticeable with 750whp. I'm looking at a $15-25k budget to get a ZL1 or make the Supra what I want. Does this group see the B58 on 93oct making 700-800hp? Would heads meaningfully increase the rev range to overcome the poor rod x bore ratio and make the engine exciting? I feel like my heart hasn't been in the car this whole last year and it showed with a lot less miles driven then the first year and a half.

Choices: How far does $20k get a B58 without E blends or meth? OR Choose a large displacement engine that will make 900 on 93oct?

I explain most thing here on this thread.

https://www.supramkv.com/threads/gr-supra-101-routes-to-big-power.17670/

You can hit that 700-800 whp with meth and E easily. Btw you can get flex fuel kit which sees how much Ethanol is mixed with pump gas and provides that power accordingly so anywhere between running pump to running full E85. Also as for meth you can limit your use of meth by having a map that uses no meth. And a map that uses meth when tuning. Turbo upgrade is a must. If you want big and easy power go for a top mount turbo kit. Full Race, p2unned, boost logic, and many others choose your preferred turbo. Run a full 3.5 inch setup from downpipe to exhaust. Do port injection, heat exchangers, intake manifold, meth kit, LPFP, flex fuel, Pure drive train transmission, and a good tuner should get you where you want. In that 700-800 whp. After 800whp building an engine is your next step.

P.S please use the search bar it helps.

I would advise against putting money into a platform you are already disappointed in, in the hopes that it’s going to make you enjoy the car. Sometimes it works, but often times it’s better to put that money towards a different car.

Sounds to me like you want to move onto another car and already have one in mind (ZL1 1LE), and there’s no shame in that.

I feel that's your answer right there. If you haven't been into it for the last year, dumping any amount into it, especially 20k isn't going to make you suddenly enjoy it. It'll be faster sure, but it sounds like you yearn for a ZL1. So instead of trying to make it to something you want it to be, sell it and get the ZL1, and have what you've been thinking about.

I appreciate the info, I’m well read on the B58 and what is possible, I’m almost hoping it’s something that it really isn’t.
A top mount that makes 700-800 on 93oct is a lag fest in a car that already has a low rev limit. The charge volume and timing of ethanol is what really makes the B58 hang with the greats.

@BraveDemon and @SuupYota hit me in the feels. It’s a damn shame but I’ve been in denial the past year that it just isn’t exciting for me and really wish I could turn it into what I want instead of having to move on. Much love! <3

I also have some self-loathing because it’s a Camaro and it makes me feel dirty but I guess we all join the dark side eventually!

I’ll list my Eventuri when I take it off, the intake “whoosh” really helped the engagement of the cockpit.

Why not a C8 ?
Supra 60K + 20K = 80K can get 2-3LT with z51 w/o markup
Weight Supra + 100 lb

My personal experience is I did everything I could without doing any major modifications just simple bolt ons and a custom E50 tune. I love the car but I'm craving something else and more speed.

I could easily dump 15-20k into this car going top mount turbo, built trans, axels, LPFP, billet manifold, and retune it get around 750-800WHP but then I'm out all that money and will never see it again. Whenever you build a car expect to never see that money again selling a heavily modified car is a massive red flag like the freaking plague to 99% of buyers. So im done dumping money into this car. Also I feel like building a car that extensively ruins the drivability of it.

Personally I'm keeping it another year or so but I'm either going to go to either a G82 M4, C7 ZR-1, or a C6 ZR-1. I have deep rooted bias for corvettes and miss my C7 Z06 a lot so more than likely a vette but in the meantime I'm still enjoying my supra it's a great sports car and I love it but just wanna change it up eventually.

**edit* didn’t realize you said C8
C8 only comes in a dual clutch, sadge.

Considered a C7Z, unfortunately they have cooling issues due to very low frontal area. It’s not out of the cards though!

C8'S drive like dogshit. The C7 grand sport is a much better car especially for track driving. This is coming from a corvette loyalist. And the 3 people I know with them all had transmissions replaced under warranty. Very problematic platform.

Plus anyone following you not close enough to read CORVETTE on the back will think you’re driving a Camaro.

Time for you to sell and upgrade to a faster car. Especially if you think this car is super slow stock. Maybe do a GTR, new m3, new m4, or new m2. Maybe a new c8 vette. All have more hp stock.

Why do dudes not research or use the search bar before asking the same question already answered a million times on how to make more power …. Is it just to brag and say this is “slow” and to tell your Lame ass life story about you having “soo many better options” smh??‍♂
