I think the reason Catless DP's make more power than catted has to do with boost creep/overboost.

Stock my peak boost is 15-15.5 psi

with Catless DP it's 16.5 psi

With a piggyback with +3 psi, I saw 22.8 psi!!!
What numbers are you putting down with this set up? Asking for me! More details would be appreciated.

Sadly I havent been to a dyno but when I look at other 2021 3.0 with catless dp/intake and a 3 psi additive boost gain it's usually in the 415-435whp area. I also run 93 oct blended to e25 so its 95+ oct combine. It feels much quicker than stock though.

Have you dragged it any. Sorry if I’m hammering you. Just trying to get an idea what route I want to go.

If I'm not wrong MST claims their catted down pipe has no CEL and can hold up to 1000hp. I still think AA is better, but idk I didn't see anyone use it. @Extreme Power House Can you provide some info I saw it on your website.

Thanks
I'd personally go with Active, its the more proven brand and they are using the best quality cats on the market (GESI).

What didn't you like about decat???
The tone. With my titanium exhaust its tinny not a deep sound. Also too loud. I hope the catted downpipe might quieten it a bit and improve the tone.

I also hate the way the car smells.

With the power levels people seem to be achieving I hope to have the best of both worlds with the Active Autowerks cat. Will find out soon I hope.

The ECU is torque/load target based, not PSI target. PSI level can change day to day, hour to hour.

There are some tables in the ECU that basically shows pressure loss in the exhaust system. If you don't tweak those tables after taking the cat out or adding a free flowing exhaust, the boost can raise.

Great info! Thanks for sharing.

To follow up on this thread. My car now has the active autowerks downpipe fitted.

First impressions are very positive.

I assume these won't be common in the UK due to needing importing from the USA and the fact they don't fit without modifications.

Waiting to hear back from the tuner if I need the map adjusting after sharing them logs. However on the way back from the garage that fitted it. It's everything I wanted.

Smell gone.

Sounds so much nicer. Quieter but still plenty loud enough, more bass less tinny.

Performance wise the car didn't feel any different.

Really good quality catted downpipe option.

Will update once I hear back from the tuner.

After sharing some Ecutek logs with my tuner I don't even need a retune with this cat. Shows how free flowing it must be I guess. Very impressed.

Will get it on the dyno again at some point. I would assume some but the car doesn’t feel any different so not likely to be loads.

I guess the more power someone is running the more noticeable it would be.
