Hey there autocrossers,

I have a newb question about classing the Supra for autox.

I’m considering going to a local SCCA solo event - just for the hell of it. I haven’t made it to autox once this year (stupid work ), and don’t care about how well I do. It’s purely for the experience.

Anyway, I see the Supra is B-street, but my car has both f+r rollbars, so I assume that puts me somewhere else?

Would love to have one of you kind souls enlighten me.?

If you don't care about classes, just pick something way above you, like XP. I can guarantee nobody is going to complain about your car in that class. ?
Then, if you decide it's something you're into, class your car appropriately and go for it.

If you're going to put yourself in Novice for your first autocross, class doesn't really matter. Because I have non OEM wheels and some aero on my car, I'm technically not in B Street anymore but i still put myself in B street cause i still put myself as a novice. Once i decide im competitive enough, I'll take myself out of novice and be precise about my class.

But if you really don't care, SCCA events usually has a "FUN" class you can just put yourself in.

The SCCA AutoX we run with here in the San Diego region always has a 'Time Only' group that we register for. It's super fun, no pressure and is a little cheaper than competition class entries.

You ever do any HPDE with NASA, Chin or anything similar in your area just to get a feel for the track, lines, free instruction at the novice level?

If the only mod is Sway bars Front and Rear, you'll be in SST.

But you can run any "Upgrade Class" (XA, SM, XP) as well.

I run XA. The car is full SST Prep but as Aero For NASA TT.

Check Out our Region's Guide Page for some additional Information and "Cheat Sheets" for quick classing.
