Don’t include me in the doubters ? I love your (style) setup! Those Catalyst numbers don’t lie and why I love my Catalyst as well. Gives me something more to shoot for and feel satisfied at the same time how well our cars can preform ?
We aren't doubting anything. We just thought it was interesting that the claim was "I run higher rates than most" and then we find out the car is still on stock struts, since any spring out there for the stock struts is like half the rate of any serious track coilover setup.

Was just a confusing statement to me.

OEM Spring rates are 167lb front / 335lb rear and the rears are divorced so basically 167lb rear

I think the HKS hipermax sleeves and springs are one of the higher spring rate packages for OEM struts and those are 243lb front / 666lb rear divorced so basically 333lb rear

I personally run a "soft" setup compared to others with my MCS and I run 650lb front / 600lb rear, non divorced, so actual 600lb springs. So basically more than twice as stiff as the HKS sleeve setup on OEM struts.

Even the out of the box Ohlin coilovers are basically twice as stiff. 513lb front/ 913lb rear so 456lb.

Spring rate isn't everything. Valving makes a big difference, it's why people pay more money for higher end coilovers.

As @Rocksandblues eluded to, if he is kicking ass on track now, he really will be once he moves to good coilovers.

Eibach pro springs. I forget rates
Okay, then they probably are stiffer than mine since those bottom out the struts and then you get infinite spring rate! LOL.

All kidding aside, those are only 205lb front / 625lb rear divorced so around 312lb rear. So softer than HKS Hipermax sleeves.

So true! I was quite surprised how much faster I was with the Ohlins “track” suggested settings and the linear springs they come with ? Rock is gonna fly ?

Ugh, I keep missing out on the great discussions in this thread!

So much knowledge here!
meh... you are having fun right? that is the main reason I participate. So much fun helping people into an addiction/illness

None of us know everything. I will always be learning AND relying on human data bases like Bryan.

One thing i have learned- and it helps that i am NOT shy- i ask ask ask at track events. I go over and admire other rides and ask about set ups and components and always try to be positive

I'm absolutely having fun. It's been one of my favorite summers in my 44 years on this Earth.

I am naturally pretty shy, and I've been trying to come out of my shell more and more. It helps being surrounded by like minded people who all love cars and driving fast, but man it was intimidating at first. I now try to talk to several people at each track event, and I get great advice. Pretty much everyone likes talking about their cars, but of course there are some bad apples like anywhere. I can say that 9/10 of my interactions have been positive.

There's a guy who lives very close to me (I believe in the same town) and drives a 981 GT4. Twice now we've driven to the track together more or less. I tried talking to the guy after the second time, and he was a COMPLETE a-hole. Turns out he is a police officer and he was NOT happy that I was going THE EXACT SAME SPEED HE WAS on the highway to get to the track. I literally followed him with the active cruise on and pointed that out to him. He went so far as to threaten to arrest me next time he encountered me on the road, and tried to tell me that he could "go as fast as he wanted" because he's a cop.

That about checks out for a GT4 owner. lol. I swear the GT4 owners are always the ones that hate giving me a point by and then drag race me. That said, I have also met some great friendly GT4 owners.

Here is basically everything we have been describing wrapped up into one person.

- Gives point by
- Proceeds to drag race me
- Starts driving in his mirrors
- Somehow randomly veers off track, maybe there was a crowd of people that way?

Mustang driver.

It sure would suck if he acted that way while you had your helmet / gopro running.

I would say that’s mainly have to do pride/ego. A car half of its price over taking a car that supposed to be a track car from factory made by a brand with an extensive racing pedigree, well it won’t seat well ? .

I naturally stay to myself, mostly because I don't want to bother people while they are doing their thing. Probably because I get nervous while competing and kinda get into "the zone" where I'm focused on how I can improve for the next outing. I guess I figure "what if everyone is doing the same?". After my sessions are over, I'm a completely different person. During the actual competition is the only time I'm ever serious. LOL. I can't help it.. I'm a competitive person.

During an event in Vegas, there was a guy in a GT350. I would usually catch him once my hot laps were done... so I'd troll him from about as close as I dared. Dude would start over-driving the hell out of the car.. on line... off line.. two tires off... it was hilarious.

I use a NRG wheel (ST-024MB-R-BL), NRG short Hub adapter (SRK-f56h), NRG release adapter (SRK-257BL-BL), battleaero makes an adapter plate for the OEM buttons and shift paddles mount.

I went with this wheel for the extra leg room with the flat bottom
