Ooof, hit you with the markup without telling you they were beforehand. Yeah, F that. I paid $2k in markup, which is dumb yeah, but it was for the exact car I wanted and I only waited 3 months (for it to finish production and shipping to dealer)

I work for Toyota and have driven both a lot. It really comes down to if you want to drag race your car or not. I own a MT because I live in the Tennessee Hills and I love to drive the mountain roads. Also I like the lack of electronics and reliability of a MY. But if I was chasing the best 1/4 time I would have went AT. I love the MT for what it is, they also have 1000hp clutches out already for it.

The ZF 8-speed is literally a cheat code on track.

Funny thing about the AC. I was at an HPDE yesterday and it was warm but extremely humid. I had the AC cranking sitting in my car troubleshooting my lap timer, and forgot to shut it off before I got on track...

Long story short, I set a PB with the AC on "maximum"
"literally"? :p Cars cut AC at a certain TPS, so it really wasn't affecting your lap. I used to keep mine on in the hot pit, but people wanted to kill me for leaving a puddle of water. Now I run a cool shirt which freezes me out if I also use the AC LOL

Red/Hazelnut 3.0.
That would be HAWT.

As for the rest of this thread:

manual is so engaging and rewarding idk...
If you want to track the car, AT all the way. If you're not going to track the car MT all the way lol.

...see? ?

Yeah lol, I know. Most cars since the mid to late 00s do it too. My '07 Cayman and my '05 STi both had this feature. I just wanted to provide anecdotal evidence.

We had a really mild summer here this year, but I may look into a cool shirt for next year. Lot's of people in the club I belong to swear by them.

The PB had a lot more to do with the fact that I was following the President of SCDA while he did a few hot laps in his son's Spec Miata than my AC settings. ?

Heck yeah. My entire cool shirt setup cost about $200-250. Best $250 I've spent on convenience stuff for the car.

Had a chance to drive stock V10 R8 on track on a hot day. With AC on, it cut power after 2nd lap. Smh..

Something to bear in mind is also the sizing of the AC compressor. Also, it's not exactly plug n play. There's control scenarios, duty cycle. Seen OEMs messing up duty cycles, as in 100% of the time compressor and fan was on, etc...
