Am I seeing different pictures to everyone else? Unless this is very well priced I don’t think I’m interested. What’s with the (fake?) vents at the side of the rear bumper?

I wonder if Toyota can send my deposit to Porsche GB directly?

Bit gutted to be honest.

Perfect hight:D

Not too concerned about the fake vents. Just think about all the people (AND manufacturors) that put non or far from functional spoilers, diffusors, skirts etc on their cars just for cosmetic purposes. If it looks good who cares:dunno:

Car looks awesome:love:

I only hope it will be 139X kg weight, would be super awesome but with those electric regulared seats, 6cyl engine with turbo and all comfort stuff will be hard, maybe 4cyl version :(

Aesthetically the car is appealing to me. The performance should be fairly good. The thing I have a hard time with is that it isn't fast enough to be automatic only (Enzo, GT3, et all...I get it. But at less than 400 hp and over 3200 lbs? not so much...maybe 110-112 mph thru the quarter mile)..and it will be 2 seats...and cost over $60-65K. So it's hard to see where this will fit. The Mark IV made good sense in that it cost less than and outperformed a C4. The world market might see this differently, but as an American, when I hear 2 seat, fairly expensive sporty car, it for sure goes head to head with the C7 vette for my money. It will likely be more nicely built than the C7. I would like to say more reliable, but the BMW connection makes me wary of that (absolutely the worst two new car purchases I have ever made were a 335 and X3 I purchased in 08). It might be more pleasing to drive, as both BMW and Toyota do a good job of that. Dynamically, it won't do well in a head to head comparison with a C7. And the C7 offers a manual. That said, I don't really like the C7 well enough to write a check for it, either.

I REALLY want to like this car. It's close. Really close. I was hoping it would be more of a reboot of the MkIV than it is, I guess (with respect to price point, seating arrangement, et). I guess I fall into the "intrigued but unsold" category at this point.

I think it will be at least 1,500KG judging from what I read about the Z4; hard to imagine any significant weight savings on the Toyota model. Bummer

That part is closed off
That’s what I wondered. So they are just there to break up the lines and make the back (the best bit of the car) look ‘fussy’ and untidy?

yeah..I'm kinda with you there. They don't bother me as much, but to my eye some of the least appealing elements are those that are trying to look more "race derived." I still think it's a good looking car, but those elements aren't my favorite, either.

This is a CGI car too, everyone realises this yeah?

Fwiw - mass of Z4 is 1535kg. Supra will be sub 1500.
I thought it looked like a toy, yeah I did guess it might be CGI.
