I bet the majority of us that have more than one car have Mazdas because they drive so damn good.

Yup! Even their cheapest economy shitbox is an absolute hoot to drive with a shockingly good manual transaxle and pedal box. They went as far as hardmounting the steering rack right at the base of the firewall to help transmit road feel through the column, and have a handfull of patents on their advanced rear torsion beam design, which makes the car very eager to rotate. My old man loves when I service his 4Runner and he's "stuck with it" for a day; best friend borrowed it for a few months and really didn't want to give it back (not for sale bro!); and brother in-law looks forward to exercising all 106 crank HP anytime he's in town.
:drive:

Bottom line is, they're a bunch of nerdy driving enthusiasts, that truly give a damn about enjoyment. My brother in-law has a beat up CX-9 that's just a stopgap until their new Grand Highlander gets built, and he even told me more than once that he's really going to miss the Mazda when it's gone, because it just drives so damn well.

I've always been very suspicious about two other Toyota-Mazda partnership things.. For one, we don't know what the underpinnings of the next Supra will be, but we DO know Mazda not only has an RX-8/coupe successor platform that's been in limbo, but now a turbo straight six is being built in-house too?! Second, the official "mutually beneficial" partnership began around 2015, and at the time, if I remember correctly, Mazda's latest Skyactiv-G engine family was the only gasoline engine to shatter the 40% thermal efficiency ceiling, and was leaps ahead of the competition. Then in mid 2017, Toyota introduced the Dynamic-Force engine series, which made them the second automaker to break 40% TE, with eerily similar operating principles & design elements. Hmmm..?

Why are we posting about Mazdas with zero Supra content in a “what did you do to your Supra today” thread?

Took the boat out on the lake. Skinny dipped with some catfish and a turtle.

No Supra content just posting random shit here.

on topic: Starting conversation with folks about that Omega 65. Gearing up for possible turbo upgrade. Also removed sticker on side window to get ready for a new sticker once it's printed. For my daughter. She and I watch Demon Slayer together. So here she is as a demon slayer.

How long until the sticker mod takes place? 13 days I surmise.

I finally ticked a bunch of stuff off the to-do list and got the car all cleaned and tucked in before the dumb snow started falling. Hopefully it'll only be a few days. Now I'm all caught up on what I wanted to get done before my engine expired. The car is finally set up as I wanted it to be a couple of years ago. I was looking for much more tactile feedback, a more compromised ride and less of a soft GT car, which the Ă–hlins suspension and custom center-exit exhaust did for me.

The latest updates include an MST intake, Verus motor mounts, a custom steering wheel, and a set of Recaro Pole Positions to replace the stock seats before they cripple me. All stuff done looking for more feedback. Some impressions below...

Verus motor mounts - I went with the firmest durometer inserts and holy crap, the car now feels much more mechanical and fizzy. It obviously vibrates and shakes so much more; you can feel everything through your feet and the transmission tunnel. It is exactly what I wanted, and driving a gear higher negates much of the fizzy when the girlfriend is annoyed or whatever. There is also much more mechanical noise in the cabin, which I love.

MST intake - I was hoping to hear some loud wooshies but it's hard to discern between the exhaust and cabin noise. Still cool, even if I wish it was much louder.

Steering wheel - The stock wheel looks like it belongs on a car that costs $10,000 and it feels so cheap. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I went G-Series with a full carbon front, all the Alcantara, round with no dumb bumps like a proper steering wheel, and the carbon magnetic clickers that are basically the same as what I use on my SIM rig. I love it, even if it's going to look dirty forever.

Pole Position seats - My back is wrecked from being a cyclist for twenty-five years and would ache after only a couple hours of driving, not ideal when I love nothing more than monster road trips. The stock seats were waaaay too soft and unsupportive for me, no matter what setting I used, but the Recaros are so much better; 700km the day after I put them in and zero back issues. They're tipped up much more than in the photo.

Did some maintenance this weekend ?
Replaced the air filter, the engine air filter and the spark plugs.
Switched from Original BMW which are from Champion to NGKs pre bended.
Feels good so far, engine runs a bit smoother but the other ones are 25k miles old ?
Changed the oil and the oil filter.
So everything is fresh now ?

But this weekend I will install the new additional Display, really hyped up. ?

Lowered on MSS Springs + SPL LCA. Got it on Black Friday, and finally had the chance to install it.

The front perch has been one of the easiest to height adjust, but the rears are not. I had to remove the inside camber bolt to release some compression in order to get the perch rotating. If anyone have a better approach let me know. Its seating a bit to lower than I would like.

Big turbo Genesis 3.8 owner checking in. Never selling this car. It's what I drive when my Supra is down for mods, since I do my own wrenching. And since this is a Supra thread, the most refent thing I did was take it to a meet, so I got 'er cleaned up on a crisp Texas day.
