im running it, 3 pin into the mirror adapter. Seems to be constant power. I have a MT 3.0 A90 base w/ tech pack. So no hud. I just unplug it for now until I figure out how to not have a battery draw.

I am a little concerned w the dongar usb adapter I have, has a small blue led in the usb section to show power which will draw power on long park. Which I do because I don’t drive in winter or daily.
Recommend leaving your car on a battery tender when it’s not driven if that’s possible for you.

Been running this adapter for a few months now with no issues. Realistically the small blue LED from the adapter is not going to draw significantly more power than the other LEDs that are powered with the car turned off and locked.

ya I usually do have a tender for my weekend cars. Need to just set it up on this car, just haven’t done it yet.

is there front battery connections? Haven’t looked into it yet. So I don’t have to leave the hatch cracked

Yeah there are positive/negative terminals in the trunk and under the hood. Depending on the tender, you can connect to the terminals and fully close the trunk/hood.

I think another forum member posted some instructions on how to do this a while ago too.

I just did the install on my 2023 supra premium with HUD. There's constant power, and it stayed on overnight.

I'm probably still going to keep it since I love the clean look otherwise.

There's a thread showing the correct places to tap using "Mirror Plug Wire Tap Kit" - then the dash cam turns off and won't draw continuously off the battery. These taps are super easy to use - especially if you already took things apart to try the Dongar kit.

I cut the wire from the dongar kit - i originally tapped into the proper connectors - but since I recently got a uniden radar detector, I soldered the wires together to share the tap. Just press in the taps to the correct 2 locations.

Good luck everyone!

you can get one from ebay that works properly. This one taps the rear view mirror and leaves the rain sensor alone. Surprised this random ebay seller has this sorted when I asked Dongar to make this exact product like 2 years ago.

EuroDan07 sells it. Been using mine a few months without any issue. powers off after 7mins when the rest of the car shuts down, and powers my radar to boot.

Oh, sounds good! I might try this then and return the dongar kit.
