That you're essentially uploading a virus to bypass the lockout of your ECU. That the maps given are very generic and aren't specific to the work and parts done to the car (assuming multiple different upgrades).

It's probably no different than any other platform comparing actual tunes to plug and play tunes. All brands have them.

But as most have said in this thread, JB4 has it's upside and is cheap and can be resold. I just can't see the appeal of a plug and play tuner on a 60-65k (most well over 70k invested with mods). Doesn't mean I'm right, just my opinion.

A virus? Yeah I don't know who you're talking to but that's a poor choice of explanation/wording.

JB4 can be summed up as a fancy boost controller with more settings but far less settings and customization than an unlocked ECU with MHD/BM3.

A virus? No.

Virus is a harsh word. It's a voltage hack if anything. And don't forget, other BMW owners are doing the Femto route as well. It's not just Supra's. You've got G80 M3CS's, X5comp, M4comps, M2's, etc... these cars are even more expensive.

If you want to open the potential to having more options then it's the only way to get every penny and pony out of it. I tried the JB+ route, even less intrusive then JB4 and still ended up doing the Femto/BM3 route.

What negative things have you heard? I don't recall ever reading/hearing about anyone having serious issues with the JB4.
Only thing I can think of is people running map 3 and blowing up stock turbos way back when the B58 was a brand new engine (on their X3s and whatever cars came with it in like 2017).

True. One day it'll backfire and your dealer will void your warranty for using your supra to watch porn.
Just pay the ransomware bro.

Based on what I've heard from a lot of other people, your experience isn't the norm.
I made a you tube guide on my experience and quite a few people have reported very similar turn around times.
DHL takes a day and a half to get it there.
Femto unlocks the same day it’s received, and returns to DHL another day and a half back.
If you’re on the west coast or deeper Midwest maybe add a day each way.
