So glad I saw this thread. Thanks a lot for recommending these. I can also confirm they work perfectly! My trunk lid doesn't automatically lift (I don't want it to) but I can open it with so little effort now with the Adro wing on. Night and day difference.
Do you have a link to the ones you used as I also have the Adro wing and there's been a few different links to various hardware in this thread. Cheers.

Also, the ones you quoted seem to not fit according to the site? Help!

Just want to confirm which one works. I’ve seen the 18.03“ one and the 18.3” one and the measurements show 19” or does it matter as long as its around 18”?

You’ll have no problem with those! They’re the exact ones I ordered.

Just to chime in with my experience thusfar, I was excited when i saw Bishop's video where he got his trunk to auto open very smoothly with a verus wing. I have the same wing, so i had high hopes. The only difference is, i ordered these struts based off a youtube video I watched. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7WAEUV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

These ones however are super powerful, and both installed made my trunk violently open lol. Any detriments to only installing one? That seemed to make it perfectly smooth the way I wanted it. I also could not get the same red springs to work with these struts, similar to how AJ couldnt get them to work, they were too stiff and wouldn't let my trunk close. The auto open is something to work on for later, i guess..

I know your post is old but was wondering if you added any springs like I see some of these guys doing or just the struts you posted and if they're still working without issue?

Thanks man!
Im not the quoted person, but I'll butt my way in per my reputation.

I use them with my UCW swan and while it doesn't auto open anymore (removed springs), it stays open and doesn't give me surprise guillotine vibes.

Is it my understanding from most/all of these that you do need some springs to get it to auto open or will these ones open automatically when new?

I don't have a wing for reference and currently no plans to add one anytime in the near future

I had to utilize springs to get my trunk to open even without a wing...but it was violent. People made fun of me, calling it a trebuchet, so the springs were removed. If you want to pay for shipping, I have the blue springs listed in this thread just sitting around.

Otherwise, the red 90mm ones that are harder to find might prove to be a better solution for you.

Curious on these struts, I know you say it does not open the hatch by itself but am more curious if it feels like it would if the wing wasn't on the car?

Was looking to try and find a set of struts I didn't also need to add springs to or if it just isn't possible without adding springs to which is fine.

Yep, I believe that's right. The struts don't really "activate" until a certain point. For reference, I have upgraded struts with the ADRO wing + taller uprights. They're really strong compared to OEM and more than enough for the added weight, so the trunk lid will fly open if I let it go. However, it still won't open on it's own.

Edit: Hah, we replied to each other at the same time. :p

Kinda stinks

I know on my Mach 1 when I had it I got a set of trunk struts from Steeda and those actually opened the trunk and also stopped them or had a self stopper to not allow the trunk to fly open and jar itself around. I don't think those are nearly long enough for our cars to fit though otherwise I'd give them a shot.

Yea, personally, I would recommend against doing the auto-open mod with the struts I got. The trunk lid flies open kinda violently. I don't have any evidence that shows this is bad for it long-term but it definitely makes me feel uncomfortable. Prior to installing them, I had to put a ton of effort into lifting. Now, I actually hold the lid down a bit until it's fully open.
