Just installed the 2 blue springs, its are pretty strong. Maybe after awhile it will be better.

Anyone figure out how to remove the top of the OEM struts?
I have to guess what you mean here, feel free to clarify

To remove the strut from the ball mount, insert a flathead screwdriver into the back of the mounting point between the metal strip and the body. The metal strip is what clamps to the ball on the car, so your goal is to pull it back / extend it a bit.

Once the strut is off the car, you can't remove the head like you can with the aftermarket ones (which are threaded).

Ok that answers my question, thanks!

Glad to see this thread still active. Sorry for any replies I didn't see, life just kind of happened.

Happy to report 8 months later, this mod still works great.

Turns out by using the bed springs I installed an amazingly terrible rattle in the car, I was going crazy and as soon as I removed the springs it stopped.

Red springs? It is a harder spring than the blue one, I went this route due to the weight of my spoiler.

Did you adjust the bump stop?

I'm looking to do this mod now that I've installed a wing and I can only find 100lb or 150lb struts. Which ones are the best option for that? Wing is the APR GTC300, and the trunk doesn't stay open very well on the stock shocks.

I've also got the red (medium strength) 90mm springs and the blue (light strength) 100mm in my amazon cart, any feedback as to which ones are the better option?

Perfect solution now imo. I went with the shorter springs (one on each side) in the 1 3/4” length. Specs are listed in the image. Super elated with the end result.

Do these rattle at all when you’re driving?

I use these with a Verus wing and it works perfectly to keep the hatch up: https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/1...10mm-ez-release-ball-sockets-se170p120ez10-w/

So I just got the last piece (the springs) to install this and the struts I got off of Amazon must be a different length. The spring is fully compressed before the trunk is closed. Can someone measure their strut body for me?

Update on my rattle: I 3d printed washers that slip onto the shaft of the struts (aftermarket struts required) and now my rattle is gone, I still highly recommend this mod, if anyone wants the model file for the washers to 3d print yourself lmk.

For AJ, I measured for ya:

I would love to place these on my Supra. Can anyone confirm these worked?

So glad I saw this thread. Thanks a lot for recommending these. I can also confirm they work perfectly! My trunk lid doesn't automatically lift (I don't want it to) but I can open it with so little effort now with the Adro wing on. Night and day difference.
