HI All...looking for some help here.

I recently installed a active autowerke down pipe. First one produced a CEL (catless down pipe detected). They RMA'd that and sent me a newer one, a proto type of sorts and is labeled as such (see photo), but this one has a different O2 sensor port, angled differently than the previous one (see photo). My problem is that I am now getting a different CEL that says: 12b701 lambda probe heating after catalytic converter. resistance too high

Does anyone have any experience with that same error and what might the fix or problem be...short of the DP itself? This is for a 2022 MK5 3.0. with 23k miles and running on a jb4 tune if that matters.

thanks all!

It's the downpipe nothing else to it. Gotta tune it out.

replaced the O2 sensor, that did not fix the problem.

Open a warranty claim with active autowerke, their DP comes with a no CEL guarantee. if its the downpipe they will replace it for free.

I have had a catted AA DP on my car for well over 2 years now with no codes. My car passes NY inspection every year without issues. I do run ecutek but that should not matter here as nothing is coded out. I would double check the wiring for the O2 sensors and make sure something didnt get pinched during install.

edit: Make sure you dont have any exhaust leaks around the v-band, or O2 sensors.

In Georgia we don't get the physical inspections where they look for the downpipe. We just get a basic emission test for $14-20

I have delt with this code for a while. It is due to the secondary O2 Sensor extender on the downpipe.

So what's the fix, if any for this specific downpipe?

There's no fix. Warranty replace it with another one.

The only fix I can see is to get that O2 bung to the same length and angle as the stock downpipe. i have notice some supra are just more sensitive with that O2 sensor code. Mine being one of them.

I've gotten the same one with active autowerks dp which I installed a few motnsh ago. I clear it from jb4 and it stays off for quite some time then comes back randomly. Let me know if you find any other solutions

if you got the downpipe brand new , active would replace it for free.

They did send me another one...went to install it and the slip joint was not sized properly. Tried everything under the sun and couldn't get it. Called them and they told me they would send me another one that was sized properly but at that point I was honestly a little fed up and just stuck with the original one that intermittently throws the code OP mentioned above. Not what I was expecting from AA as I've heard some many great things.
