Finally, the Vancouver International New car show is here. Get to see this sucker tomorrow and make up my mind what I think about the styling. Really curious how bad the panel gap around that clam shell hood is in real life lol.

For us Alberta guys the new supra will be at the Edmonton auto show, so it’ll give us a chance to hopefully look/sit in it before it hits dealers

I think it will be roped off, like it was in Montreal and Toronto. So, no sitting. I have heard if you pay the 150$ or so for the opening Gala, you can sit in any car. Not completely sure if this is accurate or not. I don't think I need to sit in it (although I would like to), so I'm not paying for the Gala

If I can sit in it I will drive to Edmonton from Lethbridge no questions asked. If anyone knows if you can let me know I would appreciate it.

I'll be at the Edmonton show and may go early during the exhibitor setup. Maybe I'll have a stroll on by and see what's happening over at Toyota...

They definitely will not let you sit in it. I found the most senior dude working the booth there, chatted his ear off for 10 minutes, flashed my Supra shirt, imparted my history (20 Supras over 20 years) and he said they didn't even leave the keys with them, there was no way.

Well, I think my journey here is complete. I was pretty sure of my opinion of the car but I wanted to see it in person first. I like so many things about this car, but i don't love it. I felt nothing for it looking at it. Can't get over the lack of Toyota DNA and theres too many things in the implementation of the exterior that just annoys me. Been fun all. Maybe in a few years with the addition of a targa and 6spd Toyota can lure me back.

For all you guys in the Dallas area in Texas, it seems the 2020 Supra will be at the DFW auto show this weekend. The Supra appears to be one of their featured vehicles on the website: https://www.dfwautoshow.com/experience/featured-vehicles/

In my opinion, the car looks good from seeing it at the Toyota Headquarters in Plano. It'll definitely be a head turner for sure. I would highly suggest for those putting money down on the launch editions to take a look at it. Probably won't be able to sit in it, but at least you'll know how it looks in person.

I heard they'll be placing it right next to the BMW exhibit :D.

Looks like I can go on Sunday, not easy with 3 kiddos. lol

Doesn’t look like BMW will be there, they’ve been absent from there for years now. Probably contract negotiations.

Does anyone know if the car is being displayed anywhere in the DMV(DC Maryland Virginia) area?

I finally saw the car in person and nothing compares to the thousands of pictures I’ve seen. As expected, the people at the Toyota area had no clue when the car will be available to purchase. All I heard was vague answers from good looking women. SMH

Attended the show. Made a beeline to the Toyota area, and because they had their area so damn jam-packed full of Camry's and trucks, it took me way too long to finally find the Supra. Because that stand is the epitome of stupidity in order to evaluate a car, I had to come back multiple times to wrap my head around it. Yes, there were other folks looking at it, but Ford had 10 times more people looking at the Bullitt Mustang. Toyota really dropped the ball, but RAV4's and Camry's pay the bills that cars, like the Supra, cash. Now to the point, the Supra has design unlike any car I've laid eyes on. Organic, but with an aura of toughness. Those non-operative vent areas look more like scars, which add a bunch of character to an otherwise very attractive car. Looking at it with that $50K price tag in mind, it met the challenge. Adding in the fact that it has that exotic straight-six drive train, the car as a whole seems like a screaming bargain. (Please keep in mind that I spent plenty of time looking at much lesser cars that had numbers approaching the Supra's). To summarize, I'm more damn smitten than I was before. July cannot come quick enough.
