Looking at moving into these soon as a street / track dual purpose coilover -- aiming for 6 to 8 track days in 2025. I really want to run a square set up Apex 18x11 with 295 squares, but this set up requires low clearance coilovers. I can look at a bunch of pictures online, but how would you define the profile of the coilovers, specifically the spring perch? Many thanks!

You should be able to run that setup with any coilover.

No problem! I'm glad it can help someone! I would caution against going to ohlins + Vorshlag route. Although I have not run them myself I have heard MANY negative experiences with Vorshlag. Im sure the Ohlins themselves are fantastic but dealing with the camberplates and their customer service seems to be a sticking point. I won't say any more but if you ask around I'm sure others would be happy to share their experiences.

As for my wheel/tire choice, I would whole heartedly recommend the titan7 Supra-specific wheel set. The 10.7" seems to work quite well with the Nankang CRS in 275/40r18. I'm currently running V730s in 275/35 and they have a slight stretch. Definitely going to go back to the CRS when I can since I loved them so much. The only issue I've had is a very slight bit of rubbing with-3.6° camber at full lock. Otherwise they've been great
What a great write up on the Fortune coilovers! ? Glad you mention service turnaround times. Definitely worth considering. There wasn’t as much info, or I didn’t look hard enough when I got mine. I’m using the Ohlins and very happy so far. However I do have Vorschlag top hats and SPL adjustable LCAs. I missed the memo on those two. I’ll let everyone know as soon as I break them ?

Have you ever tried Maxxis Victra RC1 (version 2) tires? It does lower you down a bit by only offering 275/35-18 size. I’ve tried both CRS and RC1 and just my personal preference, I liked the Maxxis better. They seemed quicker to warm up and grippier.

And I may have missed it, but what do you have your sway bars set at? Most track peeps tend to go soft up front and stiff in the rear. Curious on what worked best for you. Thanks for the input!

Yeah just to be clear, Ohlins are fantastic! But having to get custom tophats for them can be a bit confusing. And I've heard many things about how Vorshlag is less than easy to work with.

I haven't tried them yet but kinda hoping they last longer than v730s, I think a combo of camber and a super stiff sidewall makes the inner shoulder wear super fast.

For swaybars I have the eibach bar up front set to full soft and just the oem bar in the rear.

I heard they (the Vorschlag hats) weren’t fun from the shop and the bill ? reflected it, lol.

I bet you’ll really like a rear sway bar once you get one. Our cars (& all production cars for that matter) are built/prone to understeer. The car will rotate much better and turn in quicker with a stiffer bar. It’s a fine line. But after you’ve been doing it a while, you’ll definitely want it.

Gotcha! Yeah I've found with my current setup the car will turn in quite well off throttle. Mid speed maybe a bit less but I'll keep it in mind! Did you have to fully drop the subframe or was lowering it enough? I'll be doing subframe and diff bushings this winter so I'll already be in there!

You lower the rear subframe about 4 to 5 inches but dont completely disconnect everything. I followed the eibach guide but installed a different bar.

Sounds good to me! ??
Btw I just wanted to give everyone an update, as my car is moving more toward a track car and gathering more aero I'll be upping my spring rate. 2 things I'm hoping to fix:

1. When driving on v730s I kept running into inner shoulder wear at the front. Alignment was checked, I have all sphericals in the front, and so on. Other tires didn't seem to have that issue albeit a friend of mine with FA510s with the same rates also had these issues. The only theory we haven't tested yet is upping spring rates as the current rates seem to be dragging the inside tire in certain instances. This might come down to me driving harder and needing a stiffer rate

2. Aero load and mid/high speed corners. Most of the tracks I drive have a good number of mid/high speed corners and as I add more aero I'll need to support that load.

So long story short, I'll be going to 14k Front, 21k Rear and will be doing a similar right up ??

Seems like really uneven wear on those tires with that setup. I've never seen V730s get corded before the outside edges have turned into slicks.

like Evan, alignment checked. Only other thing *I* can think of is my caster is going wonky under compression and turns, allowing the toe to be dynamic.

so faster bushings I guess if I decide to pursue tracking again. Right now I’m taking a break to pursue life

Something to note though is I have the same setup WITH sphericalls for the caster arms. Therefore it can't be just that. So I will report back ?
