I'm 53, 174, 5'9. Hit my head the first time getting in then never again. But I've owned sports/sporty cars my whole life. I actually have a harder time climbing in an out of tall trucks and SUVs oddly enough.

As mentioned by @Teleguy11, the flat bottomed steering wheel does help.

Also installed Rexpeed Polarized Mirrors w/ Blind Spot Monitoring which are convexed on BOTH sides. Very helpful at eliminating the blind spots and seeing over those J.Lo hips.

The car that gave me the most trouble getting in and out of was a Lotus Europa. One of the 1st ones bootlegged in from Belgium. And I was much younger then. Probably 1968.

My 74 JPS Europa. Ground up restoration. This picture is the day I sold it. Went all out on the restoration.

Nope, the Europa had only 18,000 miles when I got it in 1982.

I've found there is definitely an initial learning curve involved with getting in and out sports cars...I've found what works best for me is place right foot into car first, lean down and grab the steering wheel for leverage and support and then lower your butt over the bolster and onto the seat, then lift left leg over the scuff plates into the car...With no scratches to the scuff plates or crushed bolsters...ha!

I'm used to doing this with all the corvettes I've owned...ha!

I too have owned several Corvettes, and the thing I noticed with them is that the roof is much narrower than the width of the car. The door glass is curved inward, giving you a lot more room to get the noggin in the car. The Supra does not do that nearly as much.

My C8 roof was much wider than my C4, C5, and C7 was...That said, yes, I noticed that with my Supra as well...But I used the same technique to get in and out in my Supra and never had any issues with bumping my head....ha! Just takes some practice as all my other new cars did! I think the worst car for getting in and out of was my MX-5 RF!!

At 60 me and the wife are a little larger than when we were young. I'm 6 foot 265. retired military with bad back and knees. I sit on door seal with legs outside the car, duck down a little and slide in. This is a daily driver. Sacrifices must be made to look this cool.

Not a Corvette.

When was the last time we had a new member that wasn’t either over 60 and had owned a Corvette, or under 30 and living off their parents?
