Hi there! I am a brand new member to the forums, and I recently just purchased my first Supra! I found a 2020 Certified Pre Owned Launch Edition with only 6000 miles on it. Drove 3 hours to Fresno to get it last Saturday and it's been an absolute addicting joy to drive. I'm a C8 corvette refugee and come from two busted new C8's that both needed replacement transmissions that GM bought back.

Any tips or advice you all can give a newcomer? I'm not a new driver, and this car pushes your limits, but any helpful tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am in love with this car. I've been bumming around the Bay Area doing night drives and it's just an absolute dream even stock (for now : D).

Well, no driving tips, but I'm with you on how nice these Supra are to drive. I came from 'kind of' the other side than you. You had C8 Corvettes, I had several Mazda MX5 Miata. I find the Supra quieter and with the JBL 500 watt sound system, my music is much easier to listen to and it even sounds better!

I have 2 questions:

What are the small white rectangles in the headliner above the sun visors?

Does anybody know of a good way to cover the cup holder openings? My elbow keeps banging around in them and it's just uncomfortable. Maybe somebody is already selling something useful?

Thanks

I like them. Not for drinks but to drop my ? in there. Definitely lots of options - you’ll enjoy searching around and checking them all out on the forum. I’ll have to look at my sun visor next time I’m in there. Got me curious.

Rectangles = vanity light for sun visor mirror.

Cup holder = search function, there are a number of comments/links on here.

Hey everyone - new member, but I've actually had my '23 A91 MT / been lurking for over two years!

In the Mid-Atlantic area, (MD). Mostly use the car for weekend road trips or to cruise with friends. Took it to autocross one time and that was fun. May consider doing it again sometime.

No real plans for mods - maybe exhaust down the road, thinking active Autowerks? ? Also some day when I'm not feeling lazy, I really want to do the Clutch Delay Valve delete.

Hope to meet a few others in the area!

Beautiful car I really dig the CU Later Grey. I recommend deleting the CDV, I had mine done after putting 5,000 miles on the Supra and don't know why I waited so long. Running out 1-2 and 2-3 quickly and fast downshifts feels much more natural IMO.

I haven't introduced myself but I've had my 2023 strat blue MT for almost 2 years now, and absolutely love it. I was one of those haters when the car was initially released. I talked so much trash. When I heard a manual was coming I test drove an auto and immediately decided to get a manual sight unseen. I was giggling the entire test drive, grin ear to ear. So I did a complete 180 and I take back all the comments I made back then ?

For reference, before the Supra I had a gen 2 Viper and an FD Rx-7 both rotary and LS swapped, and I find the Supra to be a fantastic all around car compared to those two (you could consider the Rx-7 to be two cars due to engine swap). I daily drive a 2001 Integra.

Little story, I did a road trip to Vegas in the Supra to celebrate my gf's birthday last weekend and we went to drive exotics at the track out there, 20 laps each, she drove a Ferrari 488 Pista (!) and I drove a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS (photo below). What a ridiculous machine that car is, absolutely loved it. Pure excitement from the moment the engine starts. I feel that driving it on the street would not do it justice however. I couldn't live with the GT4 RS as primarily street driven car, such a disservice to it. High strung engine, loud AF inside (part of why its a special car the engine sound is insane) short gears, and everything about that car is expensive. I'd be afraid to park it anywhere or damage it.

Reason I mention this is that it gave me an even greater appreciation for the Supra. The Supra does so many things well especially given its cost. We drove all the way to Vegas and back, went out to eat, etc in total comfort. Engine has such a torquey and broad poweband it never feels like its stressed or out of breath. Got reasonable fuel consumption (25-27 mpg with fully loaded car, 2 bodies, lots of hills, high average speed, some stops), drove over some big speed bumps and steep driveways without incident, even had a fun run on the way up with a modded F series BMW, we both chatted at a freeway exit that was a great interaction.

I don't plan on messing with it too much mod-wise, basic suspension and cosmetic stuff. Maybe when warranty goes out I'll experiment ?

Love it! I really like that blue! Dream spec car would actually be blue with tan interior and manual... But if course that's not an option in the US. ?

I was the same way at first - made lots of snide remarks about the car when it came out, but the MT won me over. Now whenever someone makes jokes, I find smart ways to comment back.

You are right, this car really deserves more street time and attention. Gets a lot done without being too much to handle. Ugh ... Stuck in winter right now. Cant wait to get back out.

Great to meet you!

Here in Australia this car is an absolute attention whore. I'm not sure it could get more attention if it tried!
Dude it’s even that way in FloRida, close enough to Naples with insanely expensive cars all over. Doesn’t matter. I’ve had young and old stare, take pics, videos, and ask questions as if it’s some hyper or concept car. I honestly didn’t expect this much attention. And that’s when sitting still.

To make matters worse, I’ve got that dadgum AWE track exhaust (like you) & catless dp. So when I start her up at a gas station, after sitting a couple of minutes…. I might as well be wearing the god of thunder costume and carrying a hammer ⚡?⚡

I have (soon to be had) a 2021 MX5 Miata RFB (Retractable Fast Back) in white, that I removed all the Mazda badges and the satellite antenna. Then added a wide racing stripe that fads from back to near white as it runs over the hood, trunk and down the back, under the black spoiler.

For the last 4 years I have some ask, at least once a week, "What kind of car is that?" I have to admit, I enjoyed the attention. I hope the Supra will continue that trend.
