I always keep an eye on auctions in the US to see what’s selling and the prices. I grew up in the states before moving to the UK many years ago and always loved my 60‘s muscle cars! By coincidence, I saw a 57 Bel Air just the other day and I hate to admit that my memories of how cool they were or pics on the web verses what it looks like in the flesh was a bit disappointing..

On the other hand, if someone wants to trade me a numbers matching mint 63‘ split window Vette for my Supra I’ll go for it! (In fact, I’ll give you 2 Supra’s!) ?

Oh shit, I just googled it, and it looks like you're right!

I know nothing about classic cars, so there may be other differences, but the first thing I noticed was all the pictures of the '57 have a noticeably thinner stripe on the side.

the 57' is distinct amongst the 55' & 56' models. its always represented by the high Fins in the rear as well as the Rockets on the Hood & bumper mounted rear lamps.

The Bel Air is really, really cool. Would I own one? Possible one day if I have the garage space and extra money to spend. Would I trade my Supra for one? No. Would I pay the same $50K for one? No. Do I believe anyone on this forum would answer differently? No.
