TBK's Time Attack Build: MK-BRX

Hello folks....

Greetings from sunny Dubai. I've picked up a 2023 Volcanic Ash Grey Supra. I believe this color is called CU Later Grey in most other markets.

I've previously owned (and tracked) a few Subaru STIs, an AP2 S2000, an E36 M3 EVO and a few other less interesting cars over the years.

Have some big plans. My immediate goal is to compete in the super street time attack class sometime in Q4 2025, once i've gotten some seat time and gotten
some work done on the car.

I'd genuinely appreciate any advice or thoughts

First things first, got a 3M crystalline tint. Transparent windshield and 90% sides and back. Mainly for heat and glare.

Also got a front license plate bracket made by a local shop. Looks clean, and a lot better than mounting it on the bumper

Got a CanChecked MFD32 installed, because data is king

Can't have a proper wing because of class restrictions, so went with a glossy CF duckbill from Rexpeed. I think it looks good. Almost certainly going with glossy CF for all exterior parts

Booked a track day on the 10th @ the Dubai Autodrome, Club Circuit. Will be going there to set a baseline while the car is still on stock suspension/wheels/tires/power/brakes.

I did slap on some Endless pads however, because i don't want my day cut short because of dead pads.

For timing equipment, i've installed a Garmin Catalyst. I'm a bit a of Garmin fanboy....i have a Fenix 7 and love it. I also like the fact that it comes with a camera and simplifies the whole video overlay aspect of it. I hate that stuff.

Pic of the Catalyst installed. I did tidy up the wires a bit later. Angled it bit towards me so could get a glimpse from the corner of my eye.

Femto guys were in town, so got my ECU locked. Tinkering with some OTS maps for now. Will get a custom tune a little bit later when more parts are piled on. Doesn't seem necessary to get a custom tune for what is essentially stage 1.

Swapped our the mirror caps for glossy CF ones. The with/without side-by-side really puts into perspective how much of a visual difference this simple mod does.

Oh man that question gets me right in the feels, because no it isn't, and not going with the manual was such a hard decision. This is my first automatic car - i'm 42, and i've owned quite a few cars.

Don’t sweat it - the ZF 8 speed is awesome. Mine is also auto as is my DD. It’s a little strange for me as well to not have a manual car, but I’m actually loving it.

Well, what do you need it for, to begin with?

Aestheically, it's really nice. The fact that it's made specifically for our application is pretty nice. It looks better than most of the ones they make for other cars.

Functionally, it let's you keep an eye on pretty much everything. I really like the fact that you can also mess around with the different pages, and make edits....including the order. It's a high quality piece overall. Looks great and allows me to track everything i want (and then some) in one responsive screen. Really hard to fault it tbh.
