ECU delivered today! Got my MHD dongle and I’m ready for the install….but what now? I ordered the license and dongle. Do I?
  1. Download MHD app
  2. Signup
  3. How do I activate the license?
  4. Install ECU
  5. Hook up battery
  6. Hook up tender
  7. Start car?? Or flash and then fire up?

I can’t say 100% as my ECU is an early one so have not had the Femto experience, but I would say I doubt it matters either way. I suppose plugging it all back together and running the car first will make sure all the connectors are properly seated before you start the MHD process. Then again, the MHD app is going to fail communication with your DME if it’s not been reinstalled properly.

Will probably do that! Just fire it up and make sure we’re all good. Then back on the tender while I get the MHD stuff together

I would suggest you use an ethernet adaptor so there is less chance of errors.

Car was on a battery tender and the wireless dongle worked perfectly! Initial flash took 90 seconds at most.

MHD is only flashed using smartphone
Your connection will be more stable and the flash will be quicker using an ENET cable to connect to your iPhone. You need an RJ45 to usb-c or lightning adapter. This is the way.

That’s fair. I have used both and haven’t personally run into issues with the wireless adapters but BimmerCode is much faster using the ENET cable. MHD is as well. And it makes me less nervous, ?

The problem is that MHD is buggy af.

After every flash I get an "unable to calculate wear" oil sensor warning on iDrive. I also get a weird tyre pressure warning too sometimes. While this seems to go away after a few cycles, it is annoying. I suspect the flashing process corrupts or destroys some historical data every time it flashes. Note that I had never seen these errors before flashing a tune!

I'm also getting some wierd DP CELs despite having MHD set to "Aftermarket DPs."

And MHD support, while quick, just kind of fobs you off.

Maybe you are talking about Bluetooth adapters? Flashing an OTS tune literally takes 10 seconds with the MHD wifi adapter!

I haven’t seen a CEL for the catted AA DP yet. Do you have that sensor ready indicator, on? CEL before the tune?
