Bunch of idiots, a simple calibration would have shown the issue.

To anyone having this issue and still under warranty. I would recommend to have it done on their dime.
Asked them to do an air calibration test, they supposedly did one and said everything is functioning properly. Left and immediately had no head up to 83 and would only work at 84. I want to either get in contact with Toyota HQ or go to another dealer.

be lucky your car is still under warranty. I have to deal with this on my own. And I would have no issue if mine was stuck on ac but I’m stuck on heat instead….

There's another semi-active thread about this same issue. What stinks is that this has been a fairly known problem with the BMW units for several years. If it isn't solved via calibration (e.g., Bimmercode reset), then it's a mechanical issue - literally breaks in the cheap plastic parts that actuate the flaps - and the whole dash is removed just to replace.

I posted elsewhere and still believe this should escalate to a recall by Toyota. When the ice cold air comes out the dash, it also comes out the defroster. Useless and a safety hazard. You can submit a report to NHTSA on-line.

Does anyone have a picture of where the drivers side blend door motor is located on the HVAC box? Part number 87106-WAA01. It looks like there are 2 on the side but dont know if its the top or bottom one. Wondering if I can get to it from the side and manually set it to cold, then leave it unplugged for the time being.

What do you mean "Bimmercode reset"?

nope still dealing with it. Might tear into the car tomorrow and see if I can unplug the one blend door. Only been driving the car like once a month lately so it’s low on my to do list.
