I was planning to get PPF but when I got in contact with the closest place that does it they were unsure of how it would work with matte paint. They had a matte PPF available but the fact that they seemed unsure of how well it would work, along with the fact that there would be edges on the film made me think about alternatives. What is everyone’s plan who is looking to get this colour. With regards to paintwork protection. Ceramic coat or PPF wrap? Which brands etc?
I found that Gyeon do a matte ceramic coating which I'm now planning on trying out. I had a Gtechniq ceramic on my GT86 and was happy with the protection it provided from the likes of sap and bird poo, but the only thing was the stone chips, no protection from that.
I was quoted around £4000 for full car PPF, the ceramic would be considerably cheaper and since matte no need to clay or polish before so application should be easy. Might still consider it for the front because of chips but if it is BMW paint it should hopefully be more resistant than the thin GT86 paint.
