I just ordered my H & R springs from and I'm looking for someone to install them. Can any of you tell me what I should expect to pay fare price wise? I can't do this myself.

takes less then an hr with basic hand tools and 2 jacks, so... $100-150 tops

Takes more than 1 hour.

shops will charge fraction of hour.

I live in an expensive city. A shop here would be 300-450

I did it myself. Never done it before. Not that hard to do. They are still rocking solid after 1 year plus and 4 track weekends.

but you need tools.

1 top hat nut, 3 spindle bolts and pivot the whole assembly out of the wheel well with top hats in place in the strut tower. Swap spring and zip the nuts back on. Rear end is almost as quick. Takes longer to jack up and take the wheels off then it does to replace the spring

Most reputable and competent automotive shops that take extra pride in their work will charge about $500 or so.

Good idea to get an alignment afterwards too.

It's cheaper to buy the tools and do it yourself. And you get to keep the tools afterwards AND you get the experience of building your own car. Putting on exhausts, springs, wheels, intakes, all that stuff you can do yourself and it's a bonding experience with your car.

Got quoted this from a shop for me supplying my own H&R springs & having them install it

Thanks for the responses. I had 2 shops wanting to charge $1200 which I thought was insane.
$1200? That buys you a QuickJack that you get to keep forever. Pony up $30 more and you have all you need. Or

buy me a beer. And We can do it together.

The Dinan website, on their GR Supra springs page, lists 7+ hours for installation time. I called the owner of an independent BMW shop, and his estimated cost to be $800 - $1100. That may include a full alignment.
