Did the fella delete his post about shearing off the bolthead of a compressor housing bolt ?
Hey may have, I mean I feel bad, but it’s such a silly mod I can’t help myself.

It's a fun mod, but like a tesla, gets boring quick. Now it's used to give people a heads up im on the Dragon

Your mom is my ride
I just drove my buddies FD with this mod. I loved it! But he said it didn't take him long to find it more annoying than enjoyable... So I'll be passing on this mod for my Supra.

same it’s cool when you ride in a friends car for 10 mins but every day, good lord!

that said… I have yet to ride in one on a proper big turbo. Assuming the machinist gets the openings just right, I’d think it with a large enough turbo the whistle would be modest and only really kick in when it’s actually spooled up. That would be ideal IMO.
On stock turbo, this sounds like it’s just constantly making noise even cruising and under vacuum.
You guys that started this thread, have you tinkered with the sizing since this all started and noticed any change if the hole size varies?

It's very annoying when the stock exhaust was on. but with the Tomei and now the SP1R it doesn't bother me. I can hear it, but it's no longer overwhelming like it was with the stock exhaust for sure. You gotta want an obnoxious ride to run these. Me and the guy that does them.... we never knew it was going to blow up like this.
Was the SP1R worth the upgrade? Any noticeable differences in sound and or drone?

Drone is pretty bad. Whether it’s tolerable to you or not is the question lol. I still think the AWE touring with resonators with catless downpipe is the BEST sounding exhaust out. The SP1R is the best looking exhaust IMO. Drone actually improved when I switched to the full 4” turbo back SP1X prototype. I think it’s worth the upgrade rove Tomei for sure. If you can handle the drone. I wouldn’t drive long distances on a regular basis with the SP1R myself.

Ditto on that, I also prefer the single exit look. Im currently running the tomei catless so tolerance is negligible, just trying to gauge if the Sp1r will have any noticeable differences on sound volume and drone before I pull the trigger

how you liking the sp1x? Are you still running the stock turbo/army dp?
