Anyone know how much would it cost if you did the entire car (also getting inside the doors and door sills)? I would do a PPF getting every exposed nook and cranny protected without trying to affect aerodynamics.

Due to the fact that there is not yet templates for the 90-series, the price is really up to the installer and it better be a custom install. Judging the way my buddy approaches a custom install, expect a minimum of $4k and 2-3 days of installation.

Wow interesting! Thanks for the input! I would always see Shmee150 doing full PPF everywhere on his cars (done at Topaz Detailing in the UK). I always wondered how much it was because honestly, I like the idea of protecting my cars.

Judging by the newly released Supra USA configurator, the LE listed in dealers as a $395 option only comes with Hood, Fenders, Mirror Backs and Door Cups and not the Front Bumper!

I'm interested to see estimates for getting Xpel ultimate plus installed. Would love to see people post their quotes once cars are delivered and shops have a chance to review the car in detail. I'm honestly not sure how much of the car I want to install it on yet, likely depends on pricing.

I was quoted around 8k-ish for the whole thing.

I decided on full hood, front bumper, mirrors and fenders for 1500ish.

The above prices include window tinting as well.

Installer said he won’t know the price for sure until he gets working on the car...obviously this will be one of, if not, his first one.

Also, the company I am going through doesn’t offer ceramic coating. After do some research, I ordered my own and will do that myself. I ended up getting 2 bottles Avalon King Armor Shield IX.

Based on what I read, with PPF and ceramic coating, most of the work is in the prep. On a new car, it shouldn’t be too bad.

That's a crazy jump from 1500 to 8k. 1500 seems low for a full front, especially since it will be an entirely custom install.

Agreed, and I should clarify. He said “up to 8k.” I set up the appointment about 2 months ago. I believe he gave me a range, my mind grabbed onto the 8k number and my decision to not fully wrap it was made.

I figured if I really wanted to, I could have the rest wrapped later on. My dealership is 1k miles away, so I wanted to make sure to get something on it before making the drive back.

He also said plan on not having the car for about a week....which is too long for me to sit around waiting. For the “frontal” job it sounds like it will be there for 2 days.

Standard coverage (partial hood, partial fenders, full bumper) takes a maximum of one day to install. Additional items like headlights, exterior door handle pockets, A-pillars, and mirror caps could be added without adding significant installation time.

The two-week quoted time is likely due to the availability of the installer. My buddy, who's a custom installer, has a schedule filled up to September. First availability is now in October.

My detail guy also suggested doing ceramic pro over top of the PPF. Per the Xpel website the film protects against most if not all of the stuff ceramic pro protects against, doesn't it? What's the point of applying ceramic pro over top of PPF?

Correct, for the standard they said they typically get it all installed on day 1, day 2 is inspection and minor corrections. They said I could take it as a soon as they are done on day 1, but waiting a day so they can go back over everything is preferred.

Not “two weeks” for the full coverage. They said 1 week. I am guessing they were being a little conservative with that too, just because this would be a first time for them....

I am planning on coating the rest of the car, so I am gonna coat all of it.

Xpel sells ceramic coating specifically for coating PPF: https://www.xpel.com/ceramic-coating-fusion-plus

From what I have read, and I am not claiming to be any sort of expert on this:

PPF will provide the best protection from rock chips, scratches, etc...
Ceramic coating will be more hydrophobic, keep the car easier to clean, etc....

Edit: The stuff I ordered was only around 100.00 bucks, which I was willing to give a try. However, personally I wouldn’t pay big bucks to have a professional apply a ceramic coating...but that is just me.
