I am not sold on ceramic -- it's better than wax and can last longer with additional benefits, but it can still be defeated by bird droppings and any really harsh stuff, and still allow damage to clearcoat. So keep your expectations reasonable.

The best reason to put ceramic over PPF is to help protect the PPF and make it easier to clean and stay shiny. For folks who put PPF on their whole car, that's a big $$ investment, so it needs to be cared for.

Agreed.

Don’t worry, I always set my expectations low. ;)

For 100.00 it’s worth a try. Imo

Definitely for that price it's worth a try. I sometimes cringe when folks pay big $$ to get it applied.

I need to shop around for ceramics, something DIY that offers the benefits but isn't crazy complicated. I always put Klasse on my new cars, but this time I think I'll try something a little more advanced. Klasse only gives me about 6 months before it starts petering out.

Did you receive an estimate for the work yet?
Just over the phone approximately $2500 Canadian. Once he sees the car to measure could be a bit more or a bit less.
I will only drive the car April 1 to October 31 then store it in climate control.
Protecting the car will make it look amazing even 15 years from now.

I have booked to apply PPF to the cars front bumper and hood and mirrors (back).
On top of that he will Ceramic Pro the whole car. (rims ,glass ,plastic ect.)
This is what he recommended.
The article below has great info for those thinking of one or the other or both.

That is the same coating I am using. If you care, I would look at the added cost of having him apply the coating. You should only need 1 bottle and there are lots of 25.00 coupons laying around on the Internet. You could have the supplies for 50.00, application looks very easy....

Cost me 100.00 but I bought 2 bottles and their prep kit.

But who knows....10 minutes into me applying it, I may regret not paying someone to do it. Haha

We've got an Absolute Zero White coming from another state. It will be in all of the factory wrapping so that we can do our own "pdi". Lots of photos and video as well. We'll be performing paint correction, PPF all over, and then coating with Gtechniq. Can't wait!

I was quoted 3K for PPF on the full front clip including headlights, and ceramic the entire car. This will be for a Red LE

I got quoted $4,100 for paint correction, front end PPF (headlights, bumper, hood, fenders, and mirrors), ceramic coating, wheel coating and exterior window coating. Does that sound about right?

Sounds pretty high to me. I would say 2500-3000 is more reasonable.

Oh man... the XPEL Stealth PPF looks so nice. I think I might get that done to the entire car. Does anyone happen to know of any good shops that apply XPEL in the NC area (preferably near Raleigh) and, while they're at it, do ceramic window tinting?

Also, I've heard horror stories of maintaining matte cars, but if this is a matte PPF, I'm hoping it would be easier to maintain than an actual matte paint job. Has anyone here gotten this done before to know what the upkeep is like?

XPel doesn't have the Supra pattern yet
Unfortunate, but I guess not surprising...

Any idea as to how long it usually takes then to get the patterns in for a new car into their system?
