Not today but last week, I said goodbye to the 22 Supra and also the 19 TTRS. Traded them in for a Lexus GX550 for the wife and I got a Taco Trailhunter.

I really loved the Supra but I had to come to terms with reality. I bought the Supra in Jan of 2022 in hopes to get into HPDE and track driving, but with my line of work, young twin children, I just don’t have the time.

All in all, I really enjoyed my time with the Supra and glad to see the OGs and regulars are still around and posting. Hope y’all continue to enjoy and represent the MKV and I will miss coming around here. Great forum.

Custom Steering wheel cover came out nicely today. Shoutout RL Covers! Instagram

The steering wheel cove is nice. Where or how did you get the bottom loop of the wheel gloss black and the Supra/carbon fiber inset? I want that for my car!

Pretty sure I got it from Rexpeed.net or Speedindustry.com. I think Speed Industry has a better price.

Interesting notes on the car:
  • While they did have a big brake kit, they did NOT have brace ducts or deflectors
  • Their data DID support the upgrade of radiators and heat exchangers (in addition to the usual intake manifold). I belive they were using a mix of CSF and PWR
  • The tubing in the window feeds an oil cooler that's actually sitting in the rear diff area with some really long oil lines
  • The splitter has ramps, but they are mostly straight with a uniform incline angle. No fancy curves or strakes
  • The double fuel filler inlet is purely to account for pit walls being on either side, but not really worth the effort to try and use both at the same time
  • The APR wing is simply because it was cheap and there was nothing else available at the time
  • Sprint races/20-min sessions aren't long enough to stress test the thermals. Hence why they picked this nasa event that had a 45 minute race
  • The toyota chief engineer (Randy Stephens) I was hanging out with a few months ago was the exec at Toyota that approved their budgets. Without him, the car likely would not have gotten off the ground
  • They will likely need to retire the car between now and when the mkvi supra launches, and will need to pick another car because the mkvi launch is way too far away. they pointed out that any rumors on the engine are total bullshit because toyota corporate hasn't decided on which engine to use yet. Lots of high level politics going into the decision, too many executives trying to treat it as their pet project and take credit. This makes me sad because decision by committee is rarely a good thing

I finished welding in my Walker Pro Motorsports half cage. It has great main hoop fitment. Just need to figure out seats next. Was hoping to get an OMP M-Rain like everyone else, but it doesn't look like it comes in an XL :(

This is my first car with PPF+ceramic, so I’m sure that helps a bit. I’m also still a track novice and have some catching up to do- and maybe some hood hole cutting haha.

I would say make sure you cut the hole straight, but you won't. No one does.

Have fun though!

24' Supra 3.0 MT... the Orange one
Picked up a mid sized truck! Daily drove a Subaru Ascent for the past few years. Wanted a truck again (had a Tacoma in the past) but didn't want to go half-ton because I'm a wuss and hate parking those. So I got a Canyon that can tow the Supra + trailer with comfortable headroom in towing capacity.

If I have learned anything in this year and half is that there are universal laws that govern us:

1. no supra hood hole will ever be straight.

the second one is:

2. my oil is better than yours.
