Despite having a four month head start I wouldn't be surprised if 2019 ended in the Supra and Z4 being heck to heck.

I think once delivery smooths out and the mark ups die down we'll start seeing the Supra average around 500 units a month. I believe A70 said the US was getting 6,000 units a year? :dunno:

12,000 per year for N.A. was the goal last I heard, but that may have been wishful thinking lol. IIRC, they wanted to do 6000 this year, but looking like it's only gonna be like 5k overall.

I wonder what % of dealership deliveries that accounts for? I'm seeing tons of posts about cars being on hold or having just arrived. Given that this thing just started rolling into dealerships, 320 doesn't seem like a bad number at all.
Saw this on our sister forum.

Of the 320 July nationwide sales, 171 were sold in Florida, 39 in New York, 33 in Texas, and 30 in Boston, all having ports of entry closest to Europe. West Coast regions have the lowest MTD sales with 6 in LA, 1 in San Francisco, 0 in Portland, 0 in Hawaii, understandable with those POE's having the longest shipping time with boats having to transit the Panama Canal adding several days.

Numbers should ramp up this month, there are another 1,444 in dealer and port stock. That sounds substantial until compared to historic Toyota stock levels of 60 days supply that might mean there weren't many pre-orders to deliver.

Next month will have more reliable data with massive Toyota ad presence this month on all series that will bump showroom traffic that hopefully translates into Supra upsells.

I thought they said that only 3~4,000 were going to be sold to North America this year - out of curiosity, where did you hear the 12,000 figure? (And why would the aim for that number in the initial year? That was the total number of Supras ever sold in North America during its entire run until 1998...)

~4k units is supposedly the figure for this year for N.A.; they wanted to do 6k originally (not terribly far off)

12k was the goal for 2020+, but I doubt they're going to get anywhere near that. Either way, those are targets and they can easily change and possibly already have.

As to where I heard it, well co-workers talk right? :)

Either way I think this car will outsell the A80 big time. If they do hit the 5-6k mark for this year then that will already be roughly half of what the old car sold (11,446).

yeah, you really can't compare A80 sales to the A90 (or rather shouldn't).

the situation is completely different aside from having the same name and badge, and of course it would be 26 years later.
