Someone already said it but did you put steering setting to sport then drive it and put it to normal then drive it then put it back to sport?

Haven’t done much testing but yes. I sent the car to ppf shop it’s gonna be a while until I get it back they are backed up so not sure when I get it back. But I definitely will be doing more testing once I get it back.

You have 26FE as well? Same issue?
Have a 2024 but yes I had the same issue. The car would wander all over when I tried to track straight. It also made lots of noise going over bumps. When I put it in the air I could grab the tire and push/pull and see all the play. I tightened the adjustment on the steering rack and it was a night and day difference, however, my steering wheel was off center. An alignment made it much better.

I’ll check back with the dealer once’s I get it back from PPF, do more testing as well.

I would put the car on the alignment rack first... FE may have the same problem like many supra's that left the factory with alignment issues.

Its sounds like a program issue. Maybe they made it have more steering input required off center before the car actually moves. Not sure why this would be beneficial vs a more sensitive setup.

Did you ever sort out the problem?

I noticed that on my Final Edition the steering wheel is slightly off, when centered it tracks right. The steering is also really odd on the highway, not easy to keep the car straight. Very twitchy in normal and sport at high speeds.

I’m thinking of taking it in to have it looked at but was just wondering if you ever sorted the problem out on yours.

Needs a good alignment.

Maybe this helps:

A few days ago, I had stiffer sway bars installed at the front and rear, and the suspension alignment was adjusted as well. When I picked up the car, I immediately noticed that the steering wheel was turned slightly to the left, and I had the same feeling others described — as if the car was driving like a van, with a dead zone in the steering.

During my first drive, the stability control kept kicking in constantly at speeds over 120 km/h. I went straight back to the workshop, and the technician mentioned that they had also noticed the steering wheel was slightly off to the left. He told me that the steering wheel would usually recalibrate itself automatically after a few kilometers.

The car went on the lift several times; they checked and re-centered everything and did multiple test drives. In the end, they had to reinstall the software and reprogram the steering wheel calibration — after that, everything was fine. The whole process took almost two hours until both the shop owner and I were satisfied, the steering wheel was perfectly centered, and the dead zone was gone. They also found it strange that a software reset was necessary in the first place.

Now the car drives really great with the stiffer sway bars — it shows how important proper alignment and a centered steering wheel are. When I first picked it up, the car was almost undriveable. I was honestly scared going over 130 km/h, as the stability control kept intervening for 5–10 seconds at a time and the car felt extremely unstable. Apparently, because the steering wheel was pointing to the left, the system thought I was cornering or sliding sideways, which caused all those unnecessary corrections.

Now that everything is properly set up, the car inspires a huge amount of confidence and feels incredibly stable — from completely undriveable to a car you can just throw into corners.

your car probably needed a proper alignemnt from the beginning. a problem with all the supra that came from the factory

also it sounded like the shop did the alignment without centering the steering wheel... and no the wheel WON'T recalibrate since a non-centered wheel is a mechanical problem (a line the shop used just an excuse)

The alignment on my car had already been done earlier at another workshop when I installed a KW V3 suspension, and yes — the stock suspension settings were terrible. I drove about 10,000 km with that setup before having the sway bars installed.

Yeah, I also found the whole situation a bit strange, since the shop has a pretty big name at the Nürburgring. They’ve won several Trophy Cup races and are known for setting up Schirmer BMWs, including their electronic systems and . They fit their own sway bars (The sway bars are actually made by Eibach to their own specifications) on a large number of Z4s here in Germany, so the installation should have been a routine job for them. I’m not sure if one of the mechanics was already mentally on vacation (the appointment was on a Thursday and Friday was a public holiday), but it definitely wasn’t just about the alignment or the steering wheel position. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have put the car on the lift four times. As I mentioned, i n the end, they had to hook it up to the laptop, reflash the software, and recalibrate everything.

But hey, what do I know. I’m just glad the car now drives exactly the way I wanted it to in the first place.

Edit: I added the alignment Chart. My specifications were that I wanted the KW suspension to be a bit softer again and a setup intended for street use, not for the racetrack.

Literally the only thing that centers the steering wheel are the tie rod lengths. Mechanical. No software updates will change a single damn thing.

Yes, you are correct. The steering wheel is mechanically centered by the tie rods, since the Supra / Z4 G29 doesn’t use steer-by-wire.

In my case, it was probably a combination of both:
Mechanically: the tie rods were adjusted unevenly.
Electronically: the steering angle sensor needed to be recalibrated so the system recognizes the new zero position.

At least they finished my car even though the shop had already closed, and they apologized to me several times.

Yes! It went away after I drove for while since it was new it was doing a break in I guess also I set the tire pressure “recommended “ drove it to 425 miles now and it’s no issues . You have to go into the settings and change sport to normal and back and forth and drive it will reset the settings back to normal . Also if I remember my old Supra shifter wasn’t making so much movement . Is urs auto or manual?
