I'm gonna go ahead and assume that handling isn't a priority if he wants that much power. I'm with you on most of that. But I just don't think A052 are a good option since he'll want to run less camber for straight line.Too much emphasis on power and the suspension and wheels setup is not on par from my perspective.
With that amount of power you should be running Hipermax R. I am on Hipermax S and it’s brilliant but no way the spring rates and damping force is sufficient for the dynamics of a 700hp car.
You should also be running a set of wheels that is as wide as possible with an offset that is close to stock for a more predictable handling. That’s why I went for the Advan GT Beyond, 10.5 front, ET 32 and 11 rear, ET 35.
The thicker the tire sidewalk, the more lateral and longitudinal grip you will have. Thicker sidewalks also give you more grip range so the breakaway will be more gradual and more controllable when compared to a rubber band sidewall. Try to aim for a 35 profile. With you setup, I recommend A052 275/35 19 and 295/35 19. Together with the Hipermax R (leave the dampng and ride height settings on default until you know the car more) the wheels size and offset I have recommended, handling with be predictable and on par with your power goal.
Stock one do fine at that range to be honest. I 14K miles north of 700whp with stock heat exchanger and radiator. Go with an intake manifold. Data supports it.Why how come? Isn’t it just risking myself having heat - soak? The stock ones will not be able to handle the heat for 650-700 hp build, the power will drop
I’ve got an MT making around 700–800, and honestly Cup 2s just aren’t a good street tire. The heat profile isn’t right unless you live somewhere super hot and drive like an absolute animal. My 305/30 RE71RS are awesome for lapping on pump gas, but they start to struggle on E once you’re past ~33 psi, even at just 60 mph.
For the street, run an NT555R2 in the rear.
I’m assuming when you say “track,” you mean lapping and not drag racing? The new RE71RZ are solid for lapping. A052s are great too, but they need way too much camber if you also care about straight line stuff.
If by “track” you meant drag racing, don’t do that. You’ll snap your driveshaft in the first few launches on a sticky tire. And once you upgrade that, you’ll end up needing axles… and that’s before even getting into the fact that first gear is a 4.0:1 and second gear isn’t ideal for launching an MT and there's currently no straight for swap or fix for this trans. Anyway, just my .02
Both are stock and I have no issues so far up to 35 psi. Just noticed you live in Vancouver. Whichever tire you pick make sure the heat profile is A or better. At night track tires with a lower rating never get to optimal temp and become super squirrely at high boost.Thank you for your tips, this is good information. And for track I mean laps, not drag racing. Did you upgrade your drive shaft and axles for your build? I’m doing some research and seeing that the stock oem ones can still handle my goal build for 650-700, but for 750+ it gets dangerous and you will need to start upgrading those 2 parts.
Yes they will. I am 600whp+ and track 20+ days a year. Plus CSF stuff is trash. Why how come? Isn’t it just risking myself having heat - soak? The stock ones will not be able to handle the heat for 650-700 hp build, the power will drop
I’m running my build through chat GPT as well, it’s saying I should get all 4 radiators upgraded,
Lol, I didn't catch that. Always love the people that ask for suggestions/recommendations then ignore it all.
You asked ChatGPT and favored it's answer over real people with actual real experience in this thread.lol how am I ignoring it? Im just asking the reasoning behind their recommendations.
This was prior when I bought the radiators, and I never said I’m favouring chatgpts answer, I am just telling what I’ve learned from chatGPT and sharing it. I think you have a misunderstanding thereYou asked ChatGPT and favored it's answer over real people with actual real experience in this thread.
The car scene is beyond cookedI’m running my build through chat GPT as well, it’s saying I should get all 4 radiators upgraded, if I want to have a safe build
Naw son. Good night, and good luck. Go hang out with ChatGPT BoomerBlob.I think you have a misunderstanding there
