Went for a drive to visit my son on Chirstmas day and weird things happened.

I had a CEL pop up the day before - see image above - which I cleared that night. When I jumped in my car today the CEL appeared again straight away which is fine but... when I got home to check the codes, there were none reported.

And after starting the car again one more time, the CEL didn't come back.

#BMWThings?
BMW electronics are black magic. Some
Of the codes are so weird that you wonder if the programmers were just putting stuff there to throw people off the scent of what is really happening.

Chickened out of selling it to a local guy this morning. Decided to just go pay it off and see if that keeps me from flip flopping 🙃
Welcome back haha. What made you decide the change of heart? Prob the fomo of the oil threads? 😅

I've been flip flopping on it for the past few months. Mostly concerned with the long term of the platform and while I prefer to do my own work, the Supra can be more complex than I'm used to. Also wanting to get into tracking something but I'm not rich enough for the Supra to be a frequent track car.

BUT.... the feeling I got when I had a confirmed person coming to look at it and potentially buy it just flipped a switch.

I like the car way too much to get rid of it, even if I have some issues with it (that are mostly just in my head).

The kind of seller buyers just love, a time waster. Same as people that come around and waste your time looking at a vehicle that they aren't ever going to buy.

I still I'm not convinced that Phil actually owns a supra. The only picture I know of is of that red car sitting on the dealership floor.
Thats because you don't concentrate:doh: Repeat after me....Phil has posted images of his car several times

I've owned my Supra for a year now. I did track days at Barber, Daytona (155mph) and Sebring. My car is bone stock except for wheel spacers and a few appearance items. I track mine with the stock tires. Now I'll admit that after racing SCCA wheel to wheel for over 20 years, and at the tender age of 76, I'm not out to set the fastest lap at a track day. Heck, I don't even try to time my laps. I just go out to drive as fast as I feel like, have some fun and get some adrenaline flowing!

Now, at just over 6,000 miles, I had the oil & filter changed and the brakes flushed (first time). I asked the mechanic to note the condition of the oil and brake fluid. He told me the oil almost looked new and the brake fluid was only a tiny bit darker than normal. You shouldn't be concerned about tracking your Supra!

removed the AeroBon spoiler after a year or so of good use. Finish ended up failing pretty good on this one in a couple of different spots. For the price, can't complain. It did its job and it was cheap, so that always softens the blow! Car is getting detailed on Tuesday, so I figured I should probably take it off before or after. 40lb fishing wire did the trick for me. Definitely wear a sweatshirt to protect your hands, don't raw dog it. 3M doesn't come off easily.

Now to decide if I want to buy something higher quality, or go in a different direction all together. My style is a bit more lowkey, but I really do like the Voltex 12.5 side mount. Not sure I want to sacrifice visibility and draw more attention.
