His contract with Red Bull is thru 2027, but I bet Red Bull and McLaren reach a deal to move him at the start of 2027 instead.
Or will Red Bull just be pricks and not let him work at Red Bull or McLaren during 2027? They call it Gardening Leave.

Usually if it's gardening leave in this industry it is enforced for a decent period of time, (unless the new employer comes up with enough £££ to sway the decison and release them sooner).

I just heard Alex Zinardi passed away. I saw his crash live when I was a kid. Followed him since then, it’s hard to believe what he accomplished over his life.

Crazy race -
* Verstappen does a 360 and pulls it off like he intended it
* Leclerc does one later too
* Liam Lawson flips Gassly in the air for a full 360
* Kimi wins, again

All in all, I thought it was a fun race to watch. For a city street race there was a lot of passing. The part that got me is people voting Max as the drive of the day??? He started 2nd, lost control of his car and spun, worked his way back to the lead and then ended up a sad 5th after Oscar and George passed him at the end. How does that make him driver of the day? From the radio transmissions I heard, he was the whiner of the day! And CONGRATS to Kimi. He may just be the next big thing in F1.

Merc Power unit is the next big thing. Believe Kimi still has a bit to prove but no doubt getting to grips quick with these regs.

What about Hadjar binning it all by himself? That was a bonehead move.

Yeah, way too much Max glazing going on. That was largely a bad drive. Spun out and got hugely lucky his car wasn't collected as a bumper ornament at the start, and then, a lot of his passes were dirty and would've been investigated as forcing others off track if it was anyone else. 5th was a bit flattering, as he got lucky with how badly it went for Ferrari (mistakes from both the pit box and Charles himself, and Lewis getting damage from Colapinto).

I'm debating going to Sebring this weekend for the GT4 America series and watching a few Supras run.

Idk about driver of the day, but what Max did in a car that a month ago was horrible I think is pretty good, and as most of y’all know I’m the first to slag Max. He was back to his old self blowing an Apex and running Lewis to the run off in the sprint. But I thought he had a great drive. Was also great for team papaya. I’ll be torn if/when Lando and Kimi start going truly head to head. Is it wrong I kinda enjoy Russel getting shown up a little? He talked a little smack when he went to the Mercs and a new car showed up and he was beating Lewis, now a new car shows up and Kimi is doing well. I’d love for him to win it all this year. If not still hoping Lando can go back to back.

I still don’t know what to think of the racing. I was installing a turbo kit on a GR86 during the race and was listening more then watching. It’s just not the same and I can see it in my F1 groups. Just not the same excitement as years past. Anyway, hoping for something…. Better… in Canada.
